Southampton keeper Artur Boruc saved a penalty in injury time to earn his side a point in a 0-0 draw at Norwich , after the game manager Mauricio Pochettino (through his interpreter) spoke about the controversial last minute penalty , "From seeing it on the pitch I thought it wasn't a penalty. The ball was heading out towards the corner. Luke Shaw was running after ball and his rival clatters into him. Upon seeing the review on TV it's super clear to me it's not a penalty at all.

Liverpool still have a place in Europe on their minds after a dramatic 3-2 victory over in form Tottenham at Anfield , a penalty in the 82nd minute scored by Steven Gerrard was enough to grab all 3 pts and move Liverpool into 6th just 2 pts behind Arsenal . It was the first time Liverpool have beaten a team above them this season and after the game manager Brendan Rodgers said "We showed great character"

Liverpool are also above Everton in the table now for the first time in ages which will please the clubs fans.

Hopefully the Reds will continue their winning run and keep Southampton fighting down at the bottom to stay up.

My prediction - Saints 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool were able to secure all of their last 9 available points. On the other hand, Southampton were just able to bag a point out of the last 9 available points. I think Liverpool will continue their push for Europe next season as the Saints move closer to the danger zone. This will be a close 3-2 for the Reds.

Did you know that Southampton have won three of their last four Premier League home games against Liverpool, with all three wins ending 2-0.

Any more comments or predictions?

I don't think this is a great Liverpool side, and I'm still a bit undecided about Rodgers, but I'm sure the 'Pool will be buoyed by their win against us and the fans will make themselves heard. The form says Liverpool win, I say Liverpool win 1-2.

3-1

Rodriguez just ran straight through the middle of our defence....Skrtel has shown this season that we desperately need a defender.

Southampton should be at least 5 or 6-1 up.....very very poor from Liverpool..

Liverpool just never got going today, lack of motivation, hunger and any cohesion right through the team...Southampton wanted it much more and Liverpool were looking towards their holidays...

In all i'm not too disheartened as we were never gonna make a push for 4th place and i'd rather avoid the Europa League if i'm honest,so all in all Southampton deserved the 3 points and we move on to another meaningless game next week.

I reckon you might need a glass or two after watching MOTD tonight!

Do Liverpool fans really not want to play in the Europa League next season?

Didn't see the game but surprised by the scoreline. Guess that puts the final nail in the coffin of top four for the 'Pool this season?

He was our player of the season last season. He's a shadow of his form last season. Infact, he reminds me of the Skrtel we had when he first joined. Agger was "one for the future" and "Agger & Skrtel look to be the up and coming centre halves of the premier league" as so was commented.

We desperately need De Vrij and Diame. De Vrij to replace Carra and challenge for a first team place and Diame to change the game when we need that extra physical presence in midfield, what we had in my opinion, a world class Mascherano.

I oppose sacking managers who after getting their sides promoted to the Prem will receive their marching orders due to poor performance in the top-flight. Unlike most of the cases, it seems that it worked for the Saints.

They could have a doubled their lead at the half. Poor game for the Reds

People like Steven Gerrard and Brendan Rodgers should shut their mouths.

All they keep doing is talking up a top four finish and then afterwards, they put in a shocking performance like this one. Clowns.

Maybe the players were still drunk from celebrating their World Cup win last weekend.
