Sunderland v Man Utd

Postby Conner99 » Wed Mar 27, 2013 8:18 pm

Sunderland managed to salvage a point after going 1-0 down to Norwich at the Stadium of Light early in the first half , Craig Gardner making it 1-1 from the penalty spot after a disputed handball just before half time ...the game finished 1-1 and Sunderland manager Martin O`Neill talked about how it was a missed opportunity after Norwich keeper Mark Bunn was sent off after just 30 mins ... "We had an opportunity to go and try to get three points. They were down to 10 men, we got back into the game and had the whole second half to force the winner and couldn't. It was a disappointing second half."

Man Utd squeezed past struggling Reading 1-0 thanks to Wayne Rooney , his early goal was enough to grab all 3 pts for his side and extend their lead at the top to 15 pts .....it looks like the Premier League title is heading back to Old Trafford .

Sunderland will be without their top scorer Fletcher who is injured so I really have no idea who else could score for them.

Sunderland 0-2 Man Utd

Did you know that Sunderland have won just one of their previous 23 Premier League games against Manchester United, losing 17.

yes... I think that is one of the most well known facts in the Premier League ..Sunderland never do well against Man Utd ..that one win was back in 1997 .Also they are without Fletcher as you mentioned ..so anything other than a Man Utd win would be a real surprise .

FT

Sunderland 0-1 Man Utd
0-1 Bramble 27’ (o.g.)

Any comments on todays result?

Sunderland didn't have a shot on target until 90th minute!

Was it an OG by Titus Bramble or should it have gone to RVP?

Definately an own goal!. It took a big change in direction and would not have gone in if it hadn't hit his knee.

Interesting team selection - apart from De Gea how many of them will be playing tommorow afternoon?.
