Man Utd v Man City

Postby Conner99 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 7:21 pm

Man Utd were far from their best but they were good enough to beat Sunderland 1-0 at the Stadium of Light and take one step closer to a 13th Premier League title , the winning goal was a slice of luck that this time favoured Man Utd ..a Robin Van Persie effort that seemed to be heading wide until Titus Bramble deflected the ball into his own net to give all 3 pts to Man Utd ...the lead at the top remains 15 pts ...

Man City beat Newcastle 4-0 at the Etihad to show they may be about to lose their Premier League title to their bitter Manchester rivals ...but they still want to make Man Utd wait for it , they have the best defensive record in the league ..so a win for Man City at the Eithad would at least keep the celebrations for Man Utd on hold for a while longer .

I think City will win this. United are slipping a bit and look a little tired, especially in the later stages of their last few games. They will still win the league but I think City may cut the gap i little here and give them something to battle for.

that is the only problem with this game as a spectacle ...it wont matter one bit if Man City win ..the chances of Sir Alex seeing his team go on to throw the title away are almost zero . So that ruins the game to an extent in my opinion ....

I really dislike these Monday night matches on Sky Sports.
With Gary Neville being one of their main pundits now he will most likely be unable to remain unbiased during the night.

I quite fancy City to take all 3 points here if they play as well as they did against Newcastle.

Carlos Tevez to be the driving force behind their victory (Pardon the pun!)

Man Utd 0-2 Man City

I Think Gary Neville is one of the most unbiased pundits they have had. Ray Wilkins was awful. I Remember last seasons derby game they had Niall Quinn as a commentator!.

really a game that means nothing...forget the bragging rights....the title's United's....win or losing is simply irrelevant.

I like your avatar Seamus

I think Neville has been a great pundit and I have been pleasantly surprised and entertained watching him on Sky.

I just feel that he won't be able to control his emotions on Monday night!

Latest team news is that Rooney and Rafael should be back in action and are looking good to make the starting line up.

Interesting stat that Manchester United are the only team yet to concede a penalty in the Premier League this season!

Any more comments or predictions?

What a poor game this is. After all the hype from Mancini the players aren't interested. Not sure im going to watch the second half.

Pretty even game so much ,end to end but with little threat on goal.

Second half should be more exciting i think.
Why players continue to look to get on the fans good side ,by making rash tackles continues to depress me. Quite the indication of low self esteem that you would seek out that type of adulation at the cost of injury your fellow professional.

On Yahoo Sport.

We could do with a penalty to liven up this affair!

Oh I see - I thought you meant they were the only team to concede a penalty this season. I misunderstood the word 'yet'.

We have a goal!

James Milner has put City 1-0 up on 51 minutes.

How was Tevez not in an active role in that goal????
He was right in the line of vision of De Gae! bizarre decision.

FT

Man Utd 1-2 Man City
0-1 Milner 51’
1-1 Kompany 59’ (o.g.)
1-2 Agüero 78’

Any comments on tonights Manchester derby?

Its unlikely that City's win will stop Utd becoming champions but the victory will at least give them something to enjoy.

This is the first time this season that I have seen so much fight in Mancini's side but they have left it too late.
