Liverpool v West Ham

Postby Conner99 » Tue Apr 02, 2013 8:15 pm

Liverpool resumed their pursuit of a Europa League place as they came from behind to beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park , it was captain Gerrard who scored the winner from the penalty spot after Villa`s Nathan Baker brought down Luis Suarez in the area , after defeat by Southampton the improvement in qulity was there for all to see and manager Brendan Rodgers said as much after the game .."Our quality was there for all to see."

West Ham took a big step towards ensuring Premier League status with a good win against West Brom ..it finished 3-1 to the Hammers and another 3 or 4 pts from the remaining 8 games would make relegation highly unlikely ..in football though nothing can be taken for granted so a good performance against Liverpool would be a great boost for Sam Allardyce and his players as they face some tough matches as the end of the season gets closer ..

after such a good home game against west brom, it will be interesting to see what the hammers will look like at anfield. probably no serious changes will take place and we as usual will be poor away.

We should just send our young boys up there to get some experience and leave our 1st team back at home playing their Xbox.

At least this fixture isn't live on Sky on Sunday so I can decide if I'll watch MOTD later in the evening depending on the result.

Liverpool 4-0 West Ham

After our change in fortunes against Villa and taken our inconsistencies this season, it
wouldn't be a huge surprise if we drawn or lost against the Hammers.

I just hope we play Suarez with Sturridge up front ,and Rodgers refrains from tinkering
with the formation again and leaves the highly impressive Henderson in the starting eleven.

If the above happens I think we can deliver a workmanlike performance of enough quality
to edge the game, but Rodgers could hardly be described as a creature of habit just lately.

Liverpool 2 West Ham 1

It will be interesting to hear what kind of a reception Joe Cole receives from the Kop after
his ill-conceived appraisal of his time with the reds.

Are you trying to play mind games with us mate?!
If you guys don't enjoy a comfortable home win here there will be something very wrong with your team.

There is something very wrong with our team though mate ,we have one good performance when
the team looks fluid and controlled ,and then we follow that with a game when a bout of apparent
Alzheimer's seemingly spreads through our side like Danielle Lloyd through the Spurs team ,thus
forgetting how to keep the ball and do the relatively simple things.

Our defenders currently make a colander look impervious mate, its keeping a clean sheet
that's our problem at the moment ,as far as I can see putting the ball in the old onion
bag hasn't been the problem for a while.

wouldn't surprise me to see West Ham win this one....

In short cpt fantastic recently said "we've been consistently inconsistent"...couldn't possibly be any more true...so anything's possible.

Whats up with you Liverpool fans even suggesting that West Ham have a chance?!

The last time we won at Anfield was when the Beatles were top of the charts

:)

As soon as we get the defence sorted mate, we will probably have a goal drought ,we never seem
to combine the two .I can see a draw if he omits (who must be chomping at the bit by now)
Sturridge, but if he plays I think we will be collectively too strong for the Hammers.
