Tottenham v Southampton

Postby Conner99 » Wed May 01, 2013 9:55 pm

Tottenham rescued a point as they scored a last minute equalizer to draw 2-2 with Wigan at the DW Stadium , an own goal from Wigan`s Emmerson Boyce ...manager Andre Villas-Boas was glad to salvage something from the game after going 2-1 behind .."It seemed to be against the run of play , but it is good to salvage a point, hopefully it can turn out to be an important point."

Southampton suffered a 3-0 home defeat against West Brom in a match notable by 3 players sent off ..Fox and Ramirez for the Saints and Fortune for the Baggies . Southampton may be virtually safe from relegation but it was the worst they have played under new manager Mauricio Pochettino..he said "This is the worst defeat we have had here at Southampton"

Did you know that Tottenham have won nine and lost just two of their 11 previous Barclays Premier League home meetings with Southampton.

Spurs can't afford any more slip ups and with player of the year Bale against his old club should win this game comfortably.

Tottenham 2-0 Southampton.

This match didn't kick off until 3.30pm due to heavy traffic in the area.

Southampton are clearly up for this and, to be honest, were the better team in the first half. This is a game that requires a very good half time team talk. C'mon AVB!

Well I ain't gonna say we deserved the victory, we were rubbish today. However, all that matters is the win, Arsenal will smash QPR so the 3 points were essentiial.

Gareth Bale became the 1st Spurs player to score 20 league goals in a season since Jurgen Klinsmann in 1996.
