Man Utd v Chelsea - 5th May

Postby Hams » Fri May 03, 2013 11:40 am

Champions Man Utd drew their last game 1-1 away at Arsenal with RVP scoring from the penalty spot.

Chelsea beat Swansea 2-0 in their last PL match and Lampard moved to within just 1 goal of equaling Bobby Tambling's record of 202.

Any comments or predictions?

how did i forget this match ... ...oh well , this is one of the very few times each season that I want Man Utd to win , as long as Chelsea do not win will be fine with me ..providing Arsenal win their game of course .

Not sure if Chelsea will be tired at all after their Europa league game against Basel , should have enough players to cope though .

Have to commend Rafa for keeping our squad fresh despite many fixtures that has to be played. Can't see us losing this one. Although I expect Fergie fielding a strong XI. Hope we don't get robbed like the last time we have met on the league.

They also have a game in hand.

Really want United to get the win today. Chelsea is a team I really don't like.

Fergie makes 5 changes to his line up with Rooney only starting the game on the bench.

Dull game, Utd coming into it more in the second half. I'm obviously hoping for a Utd win, but it has the feel of bore draw :(

FT

Man Utd 0-1 Chelsea
0-1 Mata 86'

Chelsea go back into 3rd place following Juan Mata's late winner.

Man Utd had Rafael sent off after a tussle with a smiling David Luiz!

I thought the traveling fans just might start chanting Rafael Benitez but it sadly didn't happen.

Credit to Chelsea, they are on a good run despite the congested fixtures, just goes to show again momentum is so important.

And ref goes against Man U for once :D

A meaningless fixture for United that gave Chelsea the points out of pity more than anything else.

Credit to Mata though, for me one of the best and most consistent players in the league.

Disappointed in Rafael, he needs to keep his petulance in check.

I don't think it's out of pity. SAF won't just let get himself beaten by Rafa or Chelsea, especially at Old Trafford.
