Any comments?

how far behind are China in the football world? you have to imagine with their militant training regimes they will catch up fast once the resources are in place.

They show signs of being strong but I guess they just don't have experienced campaigners. See if you can catch the East Asian Cup next month. Small tournament with the likes of South Korea, Japan, China, Australia etc involved.

From the AFC Oman and Uzbekistan still have a shot at qualification. They have to play off against each other, and than against the 5th placed South American team but they at least have a chance. The Middle Eastern climate always works in the favour of teams like Jordan, Oman, Qatar etc. Even Australia struggles to get results there, they play their games in 45C weather most the time

i don't think the East Asian Cup gets screened over here. a shame as i'd prefer that far more than the diabolical African Nations Cup that we do get shown.

I think that's all from Asia. Oman or Uzbekistan aren't so good as fifth conmebol team, no matter who it will be.

Not sure if you looked out for results or not, but China finished second to Japan with 1 win, 2 draws. Japan had 2 wins and 1 draw. However, China was the only nation (Australia, Japan and South Korea were the others involved) to field a full strength squad, everyone else fielded youth and fringe players.

Lionel Messi will never have a better chance than this to win the world cup with Argentina and show he is one of the greatest players of all time.

A great and emphatic win against Mexico in front of a great crowd in Columbus. Donovan again coming up huge when we needed him most. Even better was that this was all done without Bradley and Altidore. Hoping they don't pick up any injuries before the World Cup. Not the deepest of pools, but Klinsmann has done well to make the most of what he has.

I agree that Argentina's defence is very weak but they shouldn't be ruled out.

They won't have very far to travel and will probably have a massive number of fans behind them to cheer them on.

When they won the world cup back in 1986 in Mexico a certain Diego Maradona almost won the tournament on his own with a little help from god.

There is nothing to stop Lionel Messi from doing the same thing and becoming a legend of the game like Pele.

The whole reason why they didn't do well in 2010 is that I predicted them to win the whole thing - as usual I put the kiss of death on them!.

What an outrage!

The Cape Verde Islands have lost their place in the last round of African qualifiers for fielding an an ineligible player and have been replaced by Tunisia.
