Anfield - racists/homophobes need not enter

Postby mrtz » Tue Jul 30, 2013 2:20 pm

Apparently this letter had been sent out by the club with a list of words as bannable offenses when said in Anfield.

Looks like George Carlin's set list!

Lets hope Luis Suarez was one of the first players at Anfield to receive this letter so we don't have any more racist incidents this season.

I'm surprised "man up" is there.

That may mean Brendan is forced to use zonal marking on set pieces.

I don't think biting is a form of discrimination... Although Suarez does just seem to like white meat.

Yeah, dreading that the atmosphere is reminiscent of Highbury the Library.

Highbury the Library? Have you been under a rock?

What happens if you shout "Downing" and a steward thinks you said "Downy"?

Kickitout have praised Liverpool for this list.

 I couldn't think of anything that rhymes with Emirates.

Yeah, what if Agger shouts, DOWNY, MAN UP! If he misses his marking assignment? Does he see red?

If Dortmund play United and Lars Bender is playing, are you not allowed to say his name?

And how are they supposed to call Torres by his proper name, Fernando Lady Boy Torres?

the club become a laughing stock with every move they make. a letter reminding fans of their responsibilities would have been enough. listing words is just ridiculous.

on the bright side, at least the fans will be able to join in with their favourite songs about Munich.

let's hope nobody turns to his mate and says "we're playing at a real handicap after Coutinho was nearly crippled by that lesser player Lars Bender. the ref gave him the wrong coloured card so he's gotten away with it. one bad tackle and 'poof' our best player is injured and we have an obvious chink in our armour now. the ref should have been able to nip that in the bud - the f*cking Homo"

i should imagine he'd be given the electric chair for such flouting of the rules.

Meanwhile, Negro is conspicuous by its absence

I think this was a memo sent out to the staff rather than the fans.

do the staff really need to be told that those words shouldn't be used though?

It's common practice in any organization, though, isn't it?

I know I shouldn't sexually harass my coworkers, but they still make me go through a course about it every year.

yes but a printed list of words that can't be used? nobody with any common sense does that.

you just hold a meeting urging the stewards to clamp down on offensive behaviour and use their discretion where necessary. just how moronic must you be to require a sheet of paper telling you that those words are not suitable? some of them have probably never even been uttered at a football match - 'She-Man' ffs? who says that? knob-jockey? i aint heard that one since i was at school. you can just imagine Brendan and the boys sat around the conference table throwing up phrases that should be banned.

what makes it even more stupid is that there are countless obvious ones not included. the response to that would obviously be 'they can't put everything on' which is precisely why they shouldn't have put any on at all.

It's just a piece of paper

Y'know, like terms & conditions in any contract?

Who cares what it says, the point is still there. Remove anyone showing disgusting behaviour.

God help your employers, Steely. Do you badger them about what a piece of paper says?

my employer tends to understand that i am an adult and therefore have enough common sense to understand what is and isn't acceptable.

it's nothing like the t&cs of a contract - it's a specific instruction for staff to look out for things. a briefing, if you will.

the point would be made without the inclusion of a list of schoolyard abusive terms. it leaves the club wide open to ridicule and rightly so. it's an embarrassment.
