I watched the Cardiff Everton game, and I've got to say if the Toffees lose Fellaini and Baines to Man Utd they will be a very ordinary team for the rest of the season. These players are bright sparks amidst a sea of mediocrity for Everton, and as much as I like Moyes as a manager I hope he fails in his attempt to poach them before the transfer deadline.

Saturday September 28th

Southampton 2-0 Crystal Palace
Aston Villa 3-2 Manchester City
Fulham 1-2 Cardiff City

Osvaldo scored his first goal for the Saints against Palace.

It was a miserable day for Manchester with City also losing at Villa.

The pressure will continue to mount for Jol after Fulham lost at home to Cardiff.

Flipping hell ! the boy needs to lighten up a bit ffs!

Like the look of that kid Leroy Fer for Norwich though ,looks like a prospect!

I was pleased to see Fulham get the 3 points today, Martin Jol is a very likable manager (no, I'm not just saying that because he is ex Spurs), they attack and they go for the 'W' rather than a draw. Credit to Sparky with Stoke, he has changed the way they play. Having said that I would rather keep the Jol man, if push came to shove, in terms of keeping the league interesting.

Sat 19th October

FT Everton 2 - 1 Hull City
FT Stoke City 0 - 0 West Bromwich
FT Swansea City 4 - 0 Sunderland

It was a terrible start for new Sunderland boss Gus Poyet who was also sent to the stand.

Things were that bad that Black Cats fans are reported to have sung bring back Paolo Di Canio!

Sunderland sometimes seem intent on surpassing Newcastle in the "who can self destruct quickest" content. I think Poyet is an intelligent coach and will steady the ship given time. Having said that he has a hell of a challenge on his hands.
