I think Atletico were unlucky to draw the first leg 1-1 at home after putting in a good display at the Vicente Calderon.
It was a great goal by David Villa in the first half to put his new team 1-0 ahead on 12 mins after a sweeping counter attack.
I was unhappy with the behaviour of Jordi Alba who twice went down holding his face in agony when Costa hardly touched him
So Simeone's men deservedly went in 1-0 up at the break and Lionel Messi hardly had any impact on the game what so ever.

Atleti came out well at the start of the 2nd period and looked like they would hold onto their lead but with the world player
of the year having been replaced at the break by Fabregas the balance of the match soon started to swing toward the visitors
and Neymar who had come on as a sub managed to head in the equaliser following an excellent cross from Dani Alves.

Tata Martino's side then went on to dominate for the last 30 minutes and could have easily scored again before match finished.

Any comments on the 1st leg result?

Any comments or predictions for the 2nd leg at the Nou Camp?

Atletico Madrid will have to be positive and have to play very well and will need to score at least one away goal...

I think Atletico Madrid are very unlucky to have lost the Spanish super cup and really gave Barcelona a good game.
Had it not been for 2 brilliant saves by Victor Valdes in the 2nd leg it would have been Diego Simeone's side winning this trophy

I still don't know why Filipe Luis was sent off in the 81st minute as it looked like he just ran into Dani Alves who should
win an oscar for the acting after which conned the referee into sending off the Atletico left back when a yellow would have done

It was also a joke that the referee award a penalty to another serial diver in Pedro who should have been booked for cheating.
It was only just that Lionel Messi went on to miss the resulting spot kick but by then the damage had already been done.

The current Spanish champions are a side full of cheats and divers like Pedro,Busquets,Sanchez,Alba and the list is endless.
I'm delighted that Atletico managed to hold Barcelona to 2 draws and that the so called champions were unable to beat us.

Do you have any comments on the Spanish super cup?

Thought barca deserved it as they were the ones trying to play football. Atletico should have had two players sent off for kicking messi and Neymar mainly. Also it was a penalty. He ran straight into pedro. Barca weren't at their best though
