Man City v Hull

Postby Conner99 » Thu Aug 29, 2013 6:28 pm

Man City had a nasty shock as newly promoted Cardiff handed them a 3-2 defeat and new manager Manuel Pellegrini may want to give his players some extra training on corners as Man City failed to deal with two of them and ultimately cost them the match . He had this to say after the match .."After we scored I thought it would be easier but two corners decided the game . It was a pity. I did not expect to lose.Set pieces are very important and we try to work at it. They did better than our defending."

Hull got their season going with a hard fought 1-0 win over Norwich ...it came at a cost though as Yannick Sagbo saw red for a headbutt on Norwich captain Russell Martin , this was just moments after winning a penalty that Robbie Brady converted to give Steve Bruce his first win back in the Premier League ..he said "We are obviously delighted to get up running, it was vitally important. We couldn't have made it more difficult for ourselves with the sending off though."

I'm sure we will see a reaction from Man City following their surprise
defeat away at Cardiff last weekend and that they will comfortably go on
to beat Hull City but I'm still not convinced either by their defence or the form of Joe Hart.

Man City 3-1 Hull

well i think playing at home will help , i cant really see Hull winning at the Etihad and i am sure Pelligrini will have made his players are aware of how important this game is .

Am I alone in thinking Pellegrini is an average manager?

FT

Man City 2-0 Hull City
1-0 Negredo 65'
2-0 Touré 90’

Any comments on todays result?

I thought Hull were the better team in the first half and the 2-0 scoreline certainly makes it look like Man City played well.

The jury is still out and undecided on if Pellegrini will be a success in England as far I'm concerned. He needs to be more positive with his tactics.
