Crystal Palace v Sunderland

Postby Hams » Fri Aug 30, 2013 2:42 pm

Its been a bad start to the season for Crystal Palace with 2 defeats
in the league and the Eagles have also been knocked out the league cup
to put a lot of pressure on Ian Holloway who is now the favourite to be first manager to get the sack.

Sunderland are also yet to win a Premier League game and had to come back from 2-0 down
against the MK Dons in the league cup to beat them 4-2 in the end but new manager Paolo Di Canio was far from amused.
The Black Cats have signed a lot of new players in the summer and it might take them some time to gel.

Happy to see Palace win this, they just about deserved it on the balance of play. One in the eye for the fascist...

FT

Crystal Palace 3-1 Sunderland
1-0 Gabbidon 9’
1-1 Fletcher 64’
2-1 Gayle 79’ (pen.)
3-1 O'Keefe 90'

Sunderland conceded 3 very bad goals!

when John O'Shea made that foul to give away the penalty and get himself sent off there was no way back for the Black Cats

The only positive for then was the return of Steven Fletcher who had been out injured for 5 months.

Is the honey moon period now well and truly over for Paolo Di Canio?
