Everton v Newcastle

Postby Hams » Mon Sep 30, 2013 4:03 pm

Everton won their last game 3-2 away at West Ham and are the only unbeaten side left in the PL.

Newcastle lost their last game 3-2 at home to Hull City despite twice being in lead through Remy's 2 goals.

Any comments or predictions for tonights match?

You have to fancy The Toffees here, Martinez has proved to be pretty astute with the players has bought in and the way he has Everton playing. I don't think anyone looks forward going away to Everton at the best of times, and Newcastle are in the usual 'crisis' mode.

Everton 2 zip up after 25 minutes, Newcastle looking insipid, Everton looking rampant. This could be a thumping for the Barcodes....

3-0 to Everton 37 minutes played. The Geordie fans have to be getting mad with this mediocre, lacklustre display. Their team looks like it would rather be somewhere else. Absolute rubbish, no heart or commitment.

HT

Everton 3-0 Newcastle

What a first half by Lukaku with those 2 goals.

Newcastle were completely hopeless and I hope they concede even more in 2nd period.

What a goal by Cabaye! A contender for goal of the month for sure. Everton are still going to win this but at least the Geordies have something to celebrate.

good game. deserved everton win but why was barry not sent off for a deliberate handball. probably wouldnt have effected the result and maybe newcastle mightnt have got their second but i just think it was a strange decision.l he would have been off in spain and rightly so. that ball might have gone into the top corner. other than that thought delefeoue looked very good when he came on

FT

Everton 3-2 Newcastle
1-0 Lukaku 5’
2-0 Barkley 25'
3-0 Lukaku 37’
3-1 Cabaye 51’
3-2 Rémy 89’

Everton move up to 4th place in the table and remain unbeaten.

It was a good 2nd half fightback by Newcastle but damage had already been done.

If Lukaku continues in this way he could end up as one of this seasons top scorers.

Any more thoughts on tonights match? - Why didn't the away side compete in 1st half?

Lukaku proving once more why Mourinho's ego has got in the way again of Chelsea's chance at success this season, a far better option for them than Eto'o or Torres at this point time.

They won't win the league if they don't sign a quality striker in January.
