Chelsea v Man City

Postby Conner99 » Wed Oct 23, 2013 7:52 pm

Chelsea had an easy win against Cardiff although a controversial equaliser for Eden Hazard with Cardiff leading 1-0 , should not have stood as he kicked the ball away as Cardiff keeper David Marshall bounced it ready to boot it upfield. While everyone is debating the laws of the game ..Chelsea moved up to second in the table and will be ready for the crucial game against Man City .

Man City were too good for West Ham and left Upton Park with a 3-1 win , manager Manuel Pellegrini said after the game "Winning the game was the most important thing for us. We played very well, and the best player for West Ham was their goalkeeper. We were absolutely sure playing the way we were, we would win away. We lost against Cardiff and Aston Villa, but football is like that."

So a very important game for both clubs ...is there a favourite to win this one ?

This is the game I'm looking forward to watching the most this weekend!

Jose Mourinho has been spared a ban by the FA after being sent to the stand last week and was only fined.

I think we are going to be in for a quality match here and with Chelsea just coming out on top against Man City.

Chelsea 3-2 Man City

I hope this game does live up to one between potential title winners, but I would not be surprised to see a cautious approach by both sides ending in a draw. The stakes are high, a loss for either team would be a kick in the plums. 1-1.

HT

Chelsea 1-0 Man City

1-0 Shirley 33'

What a first half for Torres!

He missed a sitter, hit the cross bar and then set up Shirley for the opener.

FT

Chelsea 2-1 Man City
1-0 Schürrle 33’
1-1 Agüero 49’
2-1 Torres 90’

What a blunder by Hart and Nastasic at the end to gift the 3 points to Chelsea!

Fernando Torres had an excellent match and scored his first premier league goal of the season.

Any comments on Chelsea's dramatic late win? Is the Spanish striker back to his best?

I can explain!

The Kaiser as in Franz Beckenbauer was being interviewed on Sky before
the game and it sounded like he called the Chelsea player Shirley so that is going to be his name from now on

:D ..okay.. when I think about it, it matches the pronunciation the most.. the "e" at the end is not really emphasised though..

Manuel Pellegrini showed that he was a bad loser by not shaking hands with Jose Mourinho after the game.
In England its the custom to acknowledge your opponent if you win lose or draw so he should stop being unsportsman like!
