West Ham v Aston Villa

Postby Conner99 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 9:55 pm

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce was left frustrated as his side shared the points against Swansea , the game finished 0-0 and he commented after the game .."We should have had it over and done with by half-time.We showed our classic counter-attacking football, but unfortunately our finishing qualities let us down. It's our fifth clean sheet in nine matches but we have only nine points in total and that's not good enough."

The Hammers host Aston Villa on saturday and a home win would see them move above Villa in the table .

Aston Villa suffered another home defeat as they lost 2-0 to Everton , it was their 4th of the season at Villa Park , Villa manager Paul Lambert admiitted their home form has not been great but said he could not be too harsh with his players ..he said after the game "It hurts because we should have been three up in the first half. With Christian Benteke's two chances and one from Andreas Weimann we had big moments in the game, but that's the way football is. We can't be too harsh on the lads because more times than not they score those."

Aston Villa have earned more points away from home this season so can they upset the odds at West Ham .

Hopefully West Ham will take some of those chances that we created against Swansea last week and Jarvis will win his place back in the team.

West Ham 2-0 Aston Villa

its bad news that Vaz Te will be out for a while , he was your top scorer along with Morrison .

Villa are a pretty unpredictable side, I think they had a large slice of luck in beating Arsenal away and Man City at home this season. West Ham may miss Vaz Te, goals are hard to come by in the strikerless system it would seem at the moment. I say 1-1.

Did you know that West Ham will be trying to avoid a fourth successive top-flight home defeat.
This last happened in January 2006.

I'm very disappointed that we have been beaten by Everton,Stoke and Man City,Surely Aston Villa wont make it 4 in a row?

HT

West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

It was a good first half by the Hammers but with no striker up front the crosses going into Villa's box are being wasted.

FT

West Ham 0-0 Aston Villa

The Hammers have now drawn their last 2 games by 0-0 and are just unable to find the back of the net.

Any comments on this Upton Park draw?

There was one very controversial moment when Morrison could have got into trouble
for pulling down Weimann who was through on goal and I think he was very lucky that Howard Webb took no action.

It was a very poor game and also a poor display by our captain Nolan who should be dropped for the next game.

On the balance of play West Ham were the better team but to be honest nobody deserved to win and its time we dropped this 4-6-0 formation.

i don't think anyone would have been shocked by this scoreline.

there was only ever going to be a maximum of one goal in it.

yet another clean sheet but yet another blank in the opposition goal. becoming increasingly frustrating, this.

the burden on Carroll once he returns will be ridiculous.

What did you think about the Morrison incident?

was something of nothing. Weimann should have been stronger but some referees would have given it.

we're due a favourable decision anyway so it's about time something went our way.

even if we had 10 men it still would have ended 0-0
