Man City v Norwich

Postby Conner99 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 9:09 pm

Man City were dealt a blow to their title hopes as they lost to 2-1 Chelsea at Stamford Bridge , a last minute goal from Fernando Torres assisted by Man City keeper Joe Hart left Manuel Pellierini sick as a parrot , he said after the game .."The way we lost the game was incredible."

Norwich could not break down Cardiff City and were left frustrated as the match ended 0-0 , the Canaries had 31 shots on goal ..the most this season so far ..but Cardiff keeper David Marshall had an excellent game . Norwich manager Chris Hughton spoke after the game about the Cardiff defence .."Credit to Cardiff. They came here and defended very well. On the balance of chances, we should have won. "We haven't scored, although it's not down to the lack of endeavour or the way we played. It's frustrating because it's one that should have been three points. Their keeper has had a very good day."

This should be a very comfortable home win for Man City against a poor Norwich team who shouldn't give Joe Hart too many problems.

Man City 3-0 Norwich

According to reports it looks like Joe Hart is going to be dropped for the game against Norwich on Saturday.

Is it the right decision by Pellegrini?

It may be the kick up the pants that Hart needs. If he plays despite mistakes he might be tempted to think he is the first choice regardless of form. If he has anything about him he’ll work twice as hard to get his place back. That can only benefit England.

yes ..it is the right decision , you cannot keep playing someone if they are off form and costing the team points . As Pickleman has said ....it will be up to Joe Hart to prove he is good enough to be the Man City first choice keeper . He could find it hard if Costel Pantilimon has an outstanding game for Man City .

Shame on Man City for starting the game without any English players in their starting line up.

Man City have taken a 1-0 lead against Norwich through Aguero following some good work by David Silva.

It looks like its game over at the Etihad stadium with a header from Nastasic which the Norwich keeper should have dealt with.

Alvaro Negredo has now scored to increase City's lead to 4-0 but there is a slight hint of offside in the Spaniards goal.

FT

Man City 7-0 Norwich
1-0 Johnson 16’ (o.g.)
2-0 Silva 20’
3-0 Nastasic 25'
4-0 Negredo 36'
5-0 Touré 60’
6-0 Agüero 71’
7-0 Dzeko 86’

Any comments on todays thrashing for Norwich?

Will Chris Hughton be sacked following this heavy defeat?

At least Joe Hart won't need to worry about losing his England place to John Ruddy!

Well for Chris Hughton I fear it will only mean this:
Image

I think Norwich would be wrong to sack him (no, I'm not just saying that because he is ex Spurs), what do you realistically expect? Norwich to be top 4? No, avoiding relegation is the realistic aim, today was obviously an embarrassment but sh*t happens. Give the man the season to show what he can do.

yes ..I agree it was not a good day for Chris Hughton ...he should be given until Christmas though , Norwich were really poor and Man City took advantage . The next three games will be crucial for him ...West Ham , Newcastle and Crystal Palace ...all games that Norwich should be able to get points from .
