Everton v Tottenham

Postby Conner99 » Tue Oct 29, 2013 10:28 pm

Everton continued their fine start to the season with a 2-0 win at Aston Villa , manager Roberto Martiinez saw his side go fourth in the table and seems to have installed some real confidence into the players as they look forward to a real battle against Tottenham on sunday at Goodison Park .

Tottenham had Roberto Soldado to thank as his late penalty gave them all 3 points against Hull , the 1-0 win moved them into 4th place in the table ...it was the fourth 1-0 win from Tottenham this season , manager Andre Villas-Boas was happy enough with the result but not with the home fans after apparently questioning their negative attitude after the game .

I have a ticket to watch this match, and I have to say I expect a very tough game. We are not playing convincingly in attack if I'm honest, I think a draw will be a decent result all things considered. Everton 1 Spurs 1.

I think Lukaku will cause Spurs all sorts of problems and I quite fancy Everton to win this game 1-0 at Goodison Park.
(Unless Tottenham are awarded another dodgy penalty!)

Everton 1-0 Tottenham

Did you know that Tottenham have won four games by one goal to nil in the Premier League this season, equalling their total from last season.
I thought it was Arsenal who always used to win 1-0?!

I've got a sneaky feeling Everton will be too strong a unit for Spurs to break
down ,and with Lukaku in a scoring hot streak at the moment then it will be
an interesting encounter ...Of course Spurs should be winning this comfortably
if they harbour leanings towards a title tilt

1-0, to the Bitterz

HT

Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Spurs dominated most of the first half but were just unable to find the break through.

FT

Everton 0-0 Tottenham

Both side miss out on the chance to go into 2nd place.

There was 9 minutes of injury time following Lloris's bump on the head.

Any comments on todays draw? - Were Spurs unlucky not to win?

Well, an extremely dominant display in the first half but no goals to show for all that possession. We really need to sort out that lack of supply to 'Bob' Soldado. Second half, Everton were the better team so I guess the draw is a fair result. Nine minutes of extra time did seem excessive but you get the feeling nobody was going to score if there was an extra 90 minutes of play.
I'd have taken a draw before the kick off so I'm reasonably happy with the result.
I've never been to Goodison before, getting there is pretty easy but getting back can be a bit of a mare. The traffic is horrendous and getting a bus back to Lime Street Station took forever. You have been warned if you find yourself in Toffees territory...

Couldn't ask for a better result as a Liverpool fan.

There has been a lot of talk this morning that Hugo Lloris should have been taken off when he was knocked out.

Was AVB right to keep him on or should he have sent on Brad Friedel?

Not a problem as far as I'm concerned, Lorris went on to make a good save, suggesting he was okay. It wasn't a Bert Troutman style injury. ..

All this aftermath on concussion etc. Not sure yet where I stand with it. If Lloris was able and willing to play on then surely that's good enough. Nobody else knew how he was feeling, etc...

As for the game. Thought it was bloody boring quite honestly. Utterly disappointed with it!
