Borussia Dortmund v Bayern Munich

Postby Hams » Tue Nov 19, 2013 5:12 pm

League leaders Bayern Munich recently broke the Bundesliga record for the longest unbeaten run.

Borussia Dortmund lost their last game 2-1 away at Wolfsburg and will be looking to bounce back with a win against their big rivals.

Any comments or predictions for the biggest match in German football?

I'm going for Dortmund to win, but without much confidence.

With that defence, whom I know little about, I can see this being a match with a lot of goals.

MIKHITARYAN and Lewandowski with the goals for Dortmund.

RIBERY with the goals for Bayern.

...very surprising that Dortmund was the better team in the first half ... Bayern has not taken advantage of the defence problems yet...

FT

Dortmund 0-3 Munich
0-1 Götze 66'
0-2 Robben 85’
0-3 Müller 87’

Any comments on todays result?

Did Munich deserve to win 3-0 away at Dortmund?

.. Nope 1-1 would have been a deserved scoreline... bad luck, but this match gives hope for the Napoli matchup on tuesday, because the defence made a pretty good job actually

I think Bayern deserved to win. More possession, more passes, better pass completion rate, more shots on goal and most importantly more goals. Dortmund had better chances for the first 30 minutes but then Bayern got better. Both teams missed several big chances but Bayern managed to score.

The result makes it look like Bayern were clearly better than Dortmund, which they weren't but towards the end Dortmund were defending poorly so they conceded a few. Good game, considering both teams have several injured players. Dortmund are probably worse off in that regard with almost their entire defense line missing, but for most of the game they defended well, they just couldn't score.

It was former Dortmund hero Mario Gotze who opened the scoring for Munich on 66 minutes!

Would it be fair to say that Bayern keeper Manuel Neuer was man of the match due to his saves in the first half?
