Arsenal v Marseille - 26th November

Postby Hams » Tue Nov 26, 2013 4:54 pm

Arsenal could go through to the knock out stages tonight with a win at home against Marseille.

Arsene Wenger will want to win the group this time to avoid finishing in 2nd and having to play the likes of Barca in last 16.

It is thought that the French side could rest most of their key players to save them for their own league as they cant qualify.

Very good game by the gunners.. I admit I hoped, they would lose today so Dortmund has better Chances for going through.. but this was well deserved win...

FT

Arsenal 2-0 Marseille
1-0 Wilshere 1'
2-0 Wilshere 65'

Jack Wilshere was the star of tonights show at the Emirates while Ozil missed a penalty.

Arsenal will still need to get a result in their last game at Napoli to qualify for the last 16.

Any comments on tonights result?

Arsenal could lose by 2 goals and they would still be through... they have the best chances for qualifying..

Another game where Ozil failed live up to his price tag ,there must Arsenal players sat on the bench wondering WTF was all the noise about when we signed this bloke? Subbed off with a face like a foot ,showed the frustration in the player especially after bottling that penalty. Anyway Wilshere and Ramsey were awesome tonight lively all over the place and thus far Ramsey without question is the Arsenal player oif the year. Not only going forward but he's tracking back and breaking up play ,his improvement ahas been astonishing ,that's the only word that fits this player!
The group of death is not over yet though and whoever fails to qualify must feel abolsutely gutted!

Did you know that last nights opening goal by Wilshere after just 30 seconds was the quickest ever in the CL by an English player.

Also French midfielder Flamini is in hot water with the club for cutting the sleeves from his shirt as it was decided by captain Mertesacker that long shirts would be worn!

Any more comments on the Gunners victory?
