Barnsley sack David Flitcroft

Postby Hams » Sun Dec 01, 2013 7:57 pm

Barnsley have sacked David Flitcroft following the 3-0 home defeat by Birmingham on Saturday.

The Reds have only won twice in the league this season and have fallen to the bottom of the table.

He did a decent job to keep them up last year when he took over from previous boss Keith Hill but results haven't gone his way this time.

Any comments?

Wasn't really a shock and many here were expecting it,results have been shocking to say the least.

According to skybet ex manager Danny Wilson is the favourite to get the job,Wilson was the man who guided them to the Premier League in 1997 but there's mixed opinions as he left Barnsley to join arch rivals Sheff Wed all them years ago and some haven't forgotten it.

Others mentioned are Michael Appleton who seems to walk into jobs even though he's been sacked/walked away from every one he's been in so far in the last few years.

Former Man Utd assistant Mike Phelan and Barnsley legends Neil Redfearn and Steve Agnew have also been mentioned.

Barnsley have re hired Danny Wilson as their manager again who led them into the top flight during his first spell in charge in 1997.

Will he be able to keep them up this time?
