Liverpool v Cardiff

Postby Conner99 » Wed Dec 18, 2013 9:43 pm

Liverpool showed Tottenham how to play football as they caned them 5-0 at White Hart Lane , Suarez was on the scoresheet yet again with two more goals ..making it 16 for the season so far , manager Brendan Rodgers though reckoned they could have had more..he said after the match "we could have had more" . The result kept the Reds insecond place ...now just two points behind leaders Arsenal .

Cardiff had a vital win against West Brom , it finished 1-0 and the result moved them into 14th place and gave manager Malky Mackay some breathing space in his battle to keep Cardiff away from the bottom three ...he said after the match" A clean sheet and a real good performance. I said to the boys at half-time to just have patience and grind them down, and I think we deserve it on the balance of play."

Liverpool can go to the top of the table if they beat Cardiff at Anfield on Saturday.
When was the last time the Reds led the PL at Christmas?

This should be a comfortable home win with Suarez maybe scoring a couple of goals.

Liverpool 3-0 Cardiff

and then we started to sell our best players so the Yanks could cash in.

Sounds about the right year. What a match that was.

Very good shout so far mate.

Although Suarez is getting all the plaudits and rightly so,i just want to mention Henderson and how we are seeing a completely different player in the absence of Gerrard, this is the Henderson we bought and what a player he will develop into if he continues in this way.

Our second half performance was totally different from our first half one,Cardiff were more aggressive and came forward more, plus we relaxed and saved some much needed energy for the big fixture pile up.

Perfect result and if Arsenal fail to beat Chelsea then we are top at christmas, the last four teams to be top at christmas all went on to win the Premier League.

Surely not...or do we dare to believe?

A subdued Anfield afforded Cardiff fans the opportunity to remonstrate over the harsh
treatment of their club and manager by Mr Tan aka Mr Han from Enter the Dragon.

I love the football we're playing lately ,its crisp ,intelligent and every player can
anticipate the others movement. The first half it would be no exaggeration to say
we were sensational and Henderson looks like he is flourishing without the spectre
of Gerrard looming over him. I

It must be a source of euphoria for Rodgers to see the reds formulate perfectly
his blueprint for Liverpool to press high up the pitch and regain possession quickly
and then use the ball so effectively ,rather than watch Gerrard ping another 40
yard ball up the pitch to gift the ball and the possession back to the opposing
team.

Suarez is just the most dedicated and passionate player I have ever seen in a
reds shirt, his work rate is phenomenal and his application and talent sometimes
leaves the kop laughing out loud, because words simply fail to describe this lads
outrageous ability.

Top of the League and looking sexy with it

Yep Suarez is earning his reputed £200, 000 a week (I always think it is a bad thing when salaries become public knowledge, more likely to end in jealousy and in-fighting than team unity!) and the current Liverpool side is the best 'Pool side I've seen since the relentless dominating side of the 1970s and 1980s. Still early doors, and like us without Bale, Liverpool without Suarez would possibly be a more ordinary side. The investment in the Uruguayan is a 'must' rather than a 'nice to have'. The only negative note I can think of for Liverpool fans is that Suarez will have a 'quiet' spell, and it may come at a crucial time in the season. Still, I'd rather be in your place than ours!
Cardiff showed spirit in the second half, MacKay is a man of integrity, I hope he walks away from the club with a sack full of cash!

There is no doubt that Suarez is currently the best player in the PL right now following this latest display.

Not only did he score twice but he also set up Sterling Moss and then handed the captains armband to Agger!

I also think that Jordan Henderson has been excellent and if he continues in this form could force his way into England squad.

I will finish by saying well done to the Liverpool fans for applauding Malky Mackay when the Cardiff supporters were singing his name.
