Hmm.. as a thread starter, and not just because of that,
shouldn't you post your favourite player and your dream team?

I have posted about myself in the threads made for it Smile

Weird.
What makes them class in your eyes then, if you don't follow women's footy?

Wow sorry, i set up a topic for you guys to discuss. Im interested in your views. As I find it hard to follow womens football as im playing every sunday. Ive seen quite a few Arsenal matches as my friend used to play for them but now shes gone to Fulham im sure ill see more of their games too but its hard as our games clash.

What makes them a class player? Fair question! Their general footballing skills, quality, team work, effort, work rate, their overall skills and qualities. You can just see if a player has

Yes, I know what makes a good player.
I asked what makes those particular 3 players class in YOUR EYES.
I just can't seem to understand people having opinions about women's football, when they're not following it.
Smith, Yankey and Prinz are the names you can see in the newspapers, magazines and on tv
so it's easy to say they're class.
But what makes YOU say they are class?
What makes Sanderson worse than Yankey or Prinz better than Fleeting for example?

Just to avoid a misunderstanding:
I am not trying to start a fight here,
I would really like to know how it works.
And my questions can be answered by anyone who's interested.
They are not particularly pointed at Carly Wink

I will answer this.
In general - I do not follow womens football - however I have watched quite a few games - and can see who are the better players on the pitch. Now if I have watched 10 games in total - and in all games the same players perform better than the rest - then I can safely say that I think those players are class.

I personally dont follow Dutch football, however I can still judge alot of dutch players playing in the dutch league who I personally think are great propects or great players.

Do you see what I am getting at?

Not really, especially with the Dutch football Wink

But I do agree with this:

Personally - I think what I saw of Kelly Smith - she looked impressive - however I have only seen a couple of games with her playing. Unfortunate we didnt get to see much more of her in the Euro champs.

I also like Rachel Yankey from what I have seen of her. She also looks a decent player. I wouldnt say any of those players in my opinion however are class as I havent seen enough of them.

This was a hypathetical situation.

As for the Dutch football - I dont follow the dutch league, so dont see players week in, week out - however I have followed football in general my whole life, and have seen many of the players playing in the dutch league either playing in Europe, or Internationals - or indeed watching some domestic games. Just because I dont FOLLOW it - meaning I dont watch it week in, week out, and follow the progress of teams and how well they are doing etc - it doesnt mean I cannot recognise a great player or 2 when I see them playing. So now do you get what I mean?

i think lianne sanderson is quality. her workrate is amazing, she never stops running on the pitch, she holds up the ball really well and has some fantastic touches, as well as being in the usual strikers position to knock in a few goals.

although..... i saw her after the match on sunday and said 'well played lianne' and she gave me a right mucky look!! how rude!!! Surprised

i wouldn't neccessarily put her in my world XI but she's quality and works her arse off on the pitch.

Sure. I was just confused (still am?) why were you talking about the Dutch league.
I'm guessing it's an example..?
And I think you're talking about men, right?
That's what misled me.

Yep, I like her attitude on the pitch - she's very promissing!
And she was very nice to the fans after the Frankfurt game I went to,
so I don't know why did she give you 'a right mucky look' Wink
Most of the players rushed to the showers after that game anyway,
maybe she was just tired - remember the weather that day? Wink
