Man Utd v Cardiff

Postby Hams » Sat Jan 25, 2014 1:19 pm

Man Utd lost their last PL game 3-1 away at Chelsea and have now also been knocked out the Carling Cup by Sunderland on penalties.
There is some good news for Red Devils fans that a feee has been agreed with Chelsea to sign Juan Mata but it may not be in time for him to play here.

Cardiff lost their last game 4-2 away at Man City and are now bottom of the table and yet to win since Ole Gunnar Solskj?r took over.
At least he will be sure of a warm welcome at Old Trafford.

Any comments or predictions?

Imagine the headlines if Solskjaer takes his team to victory at Old Trafford - stand by 999 telephone operators!
As it happens, I don't think Cardiff will seriously trouble the team in red, but I can see them score against a team that is lacking a little confidence at home.
Man United 3 Cardiff 1.

Did you know that Cardiffs last victory away at Manchester United came in April 1954 when they ran out 3-2 winners.

Any more comments or predictions?

I Think we will come good this time. The last 2 games have been tricky but Cardiff at home should be a nailed on win even in our current form.

RVP!!!!! get in!!!

Only on the pitch 8 minutes and bags a goal!. As happy as I am it really does expose how pathetically weak we are upfront without him!.

Good on Man United, I want Cardiff to go down and that is another nail in their coffin. Suck it up Tan man! Didn't see the game, but I'll watch the highlights, doesn't sound like there were too many dramas for the Manchester side.

It was no great improvement. We were still leaky at the back and Cardiff could have grabbed a couple of goals. RVP managed to pounce on a missed chance and Young realized that using his pace to find space and take a shot works better than running into the box and falling over. Good to see Rooney back, he had a useful 30 mins and took a few shots. Mata had s quiet game but seemed to fit in ok.

I didn't see the game ,but i'm guessing Kagawa didn't play ,Otherwise Mata would have been more effective!
I'll watch the hi-lights and garner as much information as i can from that.

while i want Moyes to fail it was good to see Van Persie back playing and scoring again, especially as any loss for the dregs of the division is good news for us.

Mata seemed to have a pretty good game and it will be interesting to see him and Van Persie working together regularly.
