Man City v Stoke

Postby Conner99 » Wed Feb 19, 2014 9:30 pm

Man City will want to get their title challenge back on track after their game against Sunderland was postponed last weekend , a defeat by Barcelona at home last night in the Champions League may have put their quadruple hopes in severe danger but they will want to make sure they don't lose any more ground in the league title race .

Stoke had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Swansea , it was a point that may yet prove important come the end of the season , manager Mark Hughes was disappointed the referee didn't give his side a couple of penalties ..and said after the game "We are a little bit disappointed the referee didn't give us a couple of penalties."

I'm sure Man City will forget that CL defeat at home to Barca and will easily beat Stoke and their former manager Mark Hughes

Just for you Seamus

Did you know that Mark Hughes was Manchester City manager between June 2008 and December 2009 winning 22 and losing 20 of his 55 games in charge.

Any comments or predictions?

Forget the European result, Man City will be up for this one.

I have no doubt Stoke will resist and play deep to frustrate Man City.

I have no doubt Man City will be just as determined to dispose of this mediocre team (how many players are left at the club that were there under Hughes? That is a rhetorical question, don't go and Google it!)

Man City 2 Stoke 0

You could sense the relief from the players, fans and manager alike when the Toure goal went in. The Mancs are still winning, though no longer with the handsome margins they were a month ago, however still in there for the title.

As for Stoke, they defended well, not much more can be said for them. It was always going to be their plan to defend and frustrate the team in blue. They did that with competence, but they will need to offer something up front if they are going to reach safety from relegation. I'm sure Sparky looks more white haired as the season rolls on!
