Galatasaray v Chelsea - 26th February

Postby Hams » Mon Feb 24, 2014 5:42 pm

Galatasaray are 2nd in the Turkish Super Lig at the moment 2 points behind Fenerbahce.
The Turks will of course have a certain Didier Drogba in their line up at the Telekom arena.

Chelsea are currently top of the PL having won away at Man City who then knocked them out the cup.
Jose Mourinho has been in the news for making some rude comments about Wenger that he was a specialist in failure.

Any comments or predictions for this 1st leg in Turkey?

I wonder if Eto'o will start tonight after Mourinho's private comments about his strikers were aired on French station Canal +?

yup... but Terry and Lampard were also in the starting line up.. I guess Mourinho didn't want to win this match anyway...

..so the fourth english team didn't win either.. maybe I should reconsider my thoughts on Premier League superiority this season..

FT

Galatasaray 1-1 Chelsea
0-1 Torres 9'
1-1 Chedjou 64'

Any comments on tonights draw?

It wasn't a surprise that Roberto Mancini had to change Gala's tactics as
they were really poor in first half an hour and Chelsea should really have taken more of an advantage.

I guess Mourinho will be happy to at least get a draw in the end and that Didier Drogba had a quiet game.

Not so fast Simply!

It's because of our leagues superiority why we can't keep fit players on the pitch for champions league games

I'm going to take a guess and say if you do a survey of the top teams form each league ,the premiers hip clubs will ahem the most 1st team players unavailable because of injury than anyone else.
That is no coincidence ,but to be fair i don't think that was the excuse for Mourinho rolling out that team tonight. Instead of Lampard he should have started with Mikel ,Instead of Schurlle he should have started with Oscar . That changes the entire dynamic of that set up with just those two players .
