Atletico Madrid v Real Madrid

Postby Hams » Thu Feb 27, 2014 5:31 pm

Atletico may have lost 2 out of their last 3 games in the league
to slip back to 3rd place but they will be fired up for this one on Sunday at the Calderon.

Real Madrid thrashed Schalke 6-1 in Germany in the CL during the week and are in excellent form.

A dream start for Real as Benzema has put them ahead after just 3 minutes.

Atletico 2-1 Real Madrid

Benzema 3'

What a strike from Atletico's captain just before half time!

FT

Atletico Madrid 2-2 Real Madrid
0-1 Benzema 3'
1-1 Koke 29'
2-2 Gabi 45'
2-2 Ronaldo 82'

Was a draw a fair result in the end?

I think Atletico defended far to deep in the last 30 minutes which allowed Madrid to keep on attacking them.

The behaviour of that coach who tried to confront the referee was also a disgrace and he should be banned by Spanish FA.

Apparantly his nickmake is the Bulldozer!

Ya hams I also think Atletico defend too deep in the last 30. From 45 to around 60 they pressed real and had a few chances. Costa shouldve finished that clear chance he had but as good an all round player he is I've always thought he's finishing let's him down at times. Reals pressure told in the end and even though I think it was a bit of a mess up on the Atletico left that led to Ronaldos goal I think a draw was probably a fair enough result but Atletico did leave them off the hook

This was onme of the best matches i have ever seen :) The ref let things go and Atletico were up for it, both teams were crazy in the first half, it was awesome to watch :D Finished off with a great goal by Atletic. Too bad in the end they still couldnt win as they tired Real equalized after a mistake.

Well done again to Atletico, making it a big 3 in Spain this season :P

I'm still disappointed that we haven't beaten Real Madrid at home in La Liga since 1999. We came so close this time!

(At least i can still enjoy our cup final victory against them last season and victory at the Bernabeu)
