WBA v Man Utd

Postby Hams » Fri Mar 07, 2014 10:57 am

West Brom could only draw their last game 1-1 at home with Fulham.
The Baggies still haven't won a league game since Pepe Mel took charge.

Man Utd won their last PL game 2-0 away at Palace with a great goal from Rooney.
David Moyes has just written an extraordinary letter to season ticket holders apologising for the teams poor season.

Any comments or predictions?

Man United have become a difficult team to predict in games away to potentially difficult opposition like WBA. Enough said, their current league position tells you they have struggled to finish teams this season, home and away. I think Moye's 'apology' to fans this season is symptomatic of a man who still hasn't found his self confidence in the job. Never mind apologies, or 'thanking' the fans for loyal support Dave, be your own man. All a bit 'un Man Utd' like in my view.

The Baggies are (predictably) struggling with a workman like squad and the obligatory (it would seem for teams fighting relegation) change of manager mid season. People are quick to point out Mel's lack of a win since taking charge, but home draws to Chelsea, Liverpool and Everton says old Pepe 'Le Pew' is not a manager to be sniffed at. He may just manage to keep the Baggies up this season.

I see a close one here, with Man United just having enough to out gun WBA 2-3.

A good header by Jones. Foster also got away with the handling the ball outside the box.

FT

WBA 0-3 Man Utd
0-1 Jones 34'
0-2 Rooney 65'
0-3 Welbeck 83'

Albion continue winless under Pepe Mel. Will it be his last game in charge?

Will comment more on Man Utd's victory when i have seen the highlights!

It looks like it was a decent display from Man Utd today and they were well worthy of the 3 points.

Should Van Persie have been sent off though? I think he was a very lucky man and that any other player would have been.

I think the West Brom defence made United look better than they are. Mata started to look like the player we need at the end. Rvp was lucky not to sent off but you could say the same of Foster who handled the ball outside the box and denied a goal scoring opportunity as it looked as if Rvp would have been through on goal. At the end of the day it's 3 points and with spurs dropping points its all good! .
