Arsenal v Man City

Postby Conner99 » Thu Mar 27, 2014 10:02 pm

Arsenal blew it big time as they snatched a draw from a winning position , a calamitous own goal by Mathieu Flamini denied the Gunners all 3 pts as the matched ended 2-2 ..it all but ended their hopes of the title and manager Arsene Wenger will not be relishing the visit of Man City to the Emirates as he tries to `respond` to this latest setback .

Man City 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 , 7

**please highlight how many goals Man City will score against Arsenal**

Depending on who's available i know Koscielny is out obviously we don't have Ramsey,Walcott, Wilshere so i think we should be coming out pretty defensive with both Arteta and Flamini starting this game.
Low scoring game i think maybe 0-0 or 1-0 to City!

Arsenal need to remind themselves that they have not lost at home since the first game of the season. Also, Giroud has scored five goals in the last three games at home in all competitions. OK, they are the stats to give the Gooners hope. The less encouraging ones are they have won just three of their last nine league games (W3, D3, L3), and they haven't found the net in half of their last six Premier League matches.

Man City are unbeaten in their last nine Premier League away games (W7, D2), and will be buzzing after thumping Man United in the derby game. They have found their free scoring touch again - Toure (11 goals in the last 14 league games), Dzeko (6 goals in the last 7 league games) are on fire.

I don't think it will be a spanking for the Gooners this time, there is a lot of pride at stake and I think they will give Man City a game. The 6-3 reverse they suffered away to Man City actually flattered the Mancs, as Arsenal could easily scored a couple more as well. However, like everyone else I'm expecting the inevitable here...
Arsenal 1 Man City 3.

With Chelsea having lost at Palace today a win for Arsenal would put them back in title race and a City victory would send them top of the table.

City 1-0 up but Arsenal showing some fight right now.All players getting involved ,been Giroud and Podolski.
We just need to to keep showing them our threat which we have done a couple of times! We can get at DeMichelis for sure .
Cazorla is right in this game driving force of an effort.

Well, Arsenal aren't out of it. They are putting up a fight here, and they could get something out of this game if they score the next goal.

Man City look ominously confident and threatening when they go forward. If they get the next goal it will be game over.

At the moment, though, I'd say it is a game in the balance...[/i]

There you go, if you want to know how the game is going to pan out just come to the Pickleman! Great fighting performance by the Gooners. I assume you will be supporting Tottenham against Liverpool tomorrow?

FT

Arsenal 1-1 Man City
0-1 Silva 18'
1-1 Flamini 53'

A much better display from the Gunners in the 2nd half and a draw is probably a fair result in the end.

Any comments on todays match?

Well some great fight from Arsenal in this game i must say ,it was all hands on deck and when they play like that they can give any team a go. Cazorla man of the match for me he gave 100% every minute of the game and a performance that should guarantee his place in that Spain team in Brasil.
I think Arsenal can take something good form this match knowing they have very big players on the injured list ,yet still held the richest team in the league at bay. Great fight Arsenal ,showed us what is possible with full team effort. Bossed that second half.

Most of which have never played under the pressure of the premiership!
The recent form Cazorla has shown in defending and attacking in our league should in my opinion should eclipse the performance of most of those mentioned above with exception of Xavi and ineista and maybe Cesc.
