I'm not going to confuse myself by putting a pile of quotes here Smile

@ Byrnefan and shlj - nice pics Wink

Re Kim Little and comments above.

I think that Byrnefan is probably confirming it is her with the comment about Fleets high fiving her.

I remember Fleets raving about her, but couldn't find any of those reports yesterday, but I wonder if Fleets has paved the way for her to move to Arsenal?

It seems a funny time to take her on a one-game loan, the day before the Scottish squad fly out to Cyprus.
(The newspaper report about that has Gemma Fay as one of the Hibs players due to fly out - she was playing in goal for Leeds last season.)

It's quite possible that Arsenal are strengthening their team - it has been needed, and especially with Katie out now. It might sound odd, talking about someone so young strengthening a team, but, she appears to have outstanding talent.

I was certain it was her in the glimpses I got last night (I tried to record it the second time I saw it on SSNews, but my disk was full Rolling Eyes).
I had searched for pictures of her to use in the "who is this player" after her earlier reviews, so had a good idea what she looked like.

Thanks gooner - very interesting info.

The problem with back-to back games though, is that, although it would be good for fans like yourself, it wouldn't be any use for those who couldn't get, couldn't afford or wouldn't want a ticket for the men's game played first.

Thanks for your comments.
Actually, it wouldn’t be a problem for fans just attending the second game, which would be the women’s game. Previously at the old Highbury stadium, they simply emptied the stadium of supporters from the men’s match and then while they got the stadium prepared for the next game people queued up. They then opened a specific area, the West Upper stand. Due to the size of the crowd, they opened the West Lower stand as well.

Having now seen the highlights on SSNews for the second time, I'm now convinced it's Kim Little, with squad number 16.

She made her debut for Scotland v Portugal last May 6th, aged 16, and was player of the match then and in the following game v Ukraine.

The Edinburgh Evening News had her down as still a Hibs player on 1st March (last Saturday) in an article about the Scottish team travelling to Cyprus on Monday (ie today, now).

I'll leave it for anyone who knows any more to fill in the gaps Wink

And I might be the person to fill in the gaps…

I posted the comment below on another forum earlier. Seeing as the speculation is who this new player is, I thought I'd post my comments here as well.

Well speculation yesterday and today has concerned young Scottish International, Kim Little and whether she has followed Julie Fleeting in joining English club side Arsenal to ply her trade.

The Scottish Football Association’s website lists Kim’s club as Arsenal LFC, on its player list (see link below). I think that confirms it once and for all.

When you hear these possible signings, you always want the concrete prove to confirm it one way or another but unfortunately, in women’s football it’s not exactly easy to come by.

I, like most people south of the border have limited knowledge of Kim’s exploits. I know she is a prolific goalscorer in the Scottish league and is tipped by many respected faces in Scottish football to be a top quality player in the making. One thing is for sure, you have to be a special talent to have achieved full honours at her tender age.

What I found interesting to note is the SFA list her as a forward but going by the articles written about her, she’s more of an attacking midfielder by trade. I wonder whether Vic’s plan is to play her on the flanks or more centrally and push Kelly upfront? Only time will tell on that one.

A benefit of this signing is, assuming she follows Julie is staying in Scotland, she’ll have company on the plane home after matches.

For the record, Kim turns eighteen on 29 June.

Arsenal fans wanting to see our new signing in action will have to wait a while as Kim’s scheduled to fly to Cyprus with the rest of the Scottish squad to play in a number of matches in the Cyprus Cup against teams such as USA, Holland and Canada. Details of the tournament detailed here: http://www.fairgamemagazine.co.uk/news/index.php?&newsmode=FULL&nid=4722.

See link for Kim’s listing as a fully fledged Gunner:

She must be a quality player indeed but another attacking midfielder ?
So we now have 7 options forward Fleeting Sanderson Yankey Carney Smith Davison and Little
3 center midfield Ludlow Asante Grant but only one defensive midfield Flaherty
I guess the 4-1-3-2 system is there for the long run.

The english players will be back for Sunday but I expect a few to be rested, hopefully for the acads player who can only get a proper chance in this competition.

It's the first game in 2008 where I have seen the whole team play well.Passing was sharp and creative defending worked well and the whole movement off the ball very very good allowing the ball holder mutiple solutions.

It was good to see there are some potential great players in the reserve, the only problem is will they get a chance ? players like Coombs Cooke or Wicks are really close to the first team but need injuries to first teamers to get a chance on the bench.

If the regulars keep performing badly maybe they will be given a chance.

If Arsenal get the league stitched up, there will be no justification not to give them a try, unless they are trying to see how many consecutive wins they can manage and get worried.

I think the county cup final is one of the few games where the youngsters will be given a game.
I mean Kim Little is young not even 18 and she get straight in as a starter so obviously the coaching staff
will start young players if considered good enough.

Not exactly giving youngsters a chance then Sad

But maybe they just wanted to ensure that they won every domestic game then.
