We have signed 2 players only : Laura Basset and Nathalie Ross, I am not even sure Ross has a squad number yet.

Another new signing Niamh Fahey the Ireland left back. This is a very good news. This will freshen up the defence after the poor showing of last season. If Faye White could stay on the bench and Ciara Grant put in alongside Basset we would be very strong again.

The likely hood of Faye being kept on the bench is 0 out of 10. I would expect the new girl to be on the bench. In my opion Faye was the reason for a lot of defensive mistakes last season.

Gemma will keep number 12 so maybe Vic will sign a center forward.

The team was playing in the 4-3-3 with a reverse triangle with young number 9 in front of the back 4 and Ciara plus Jayne as center midfield.
We had 3 wingers on display and were all left footed.

Gemma played center forward and caused a lot of damages on the wings and with her penetrating runs. She carries on where she left off after hte nordics. I just worry she will suffer from burnout.
t's interesting to note that when Gemma plays at CF the front 3 alternate in the positions a lot lore than with Julie or Lianne because she is not really and anchor point who plays back to the goal.
Basset was really solid and leading the defense well, something that was sorely missed from most of our center backs last season besides Ciara Grant.
Jayne was her usual self vocal and missing tap and good shooting opportunity Laughing but the work rate is already there.
Emma made a few save because the defense was not settled which is normal by the way.

Your text makes more sense now Laughing

Don't get you used to a good defense as Faye will back soon Wink With no w/c hangover this could be a different season defensively. I'm glad Laura Bassett had a good outing.

You'd had have the full specs if you had answered your phone Wink
Number 8 could be Ashley Goddard apparently.

Another indication is Flaherty played 90 minutes at left back.
Pond came at CB, I thought she was a left back.
I think Flaherty will be first choice at LB this season.

When does the transfer window close? A little birdie tells me we have two more departures to look forward to and another new arrival? Is there still time for this? The same birdie was right when they told me about Sanderson and Asante x

Maybe Danielle Bird could be the new player.

From the senior player list who could go :

Scott I'd be surprised to see her leave
Tracy that would not be a bad news as she did not perfrom well last season
Ludlow won't go
White that would not be bad news as she did not perfrom well last season
Grant won't go
Smith I'd be surprised to see her leave
Fleeting I'd be surprised to see her leave
Yankey maybe if Bird comes in
Carney maybe
Chapman she was there yesterday , i don't think she would go

Arsenal really can't afford to lose anymore top players if they want to do well this season.

For those who know me, I ran the line in that game because the referee had no assistants.
Quite hard keeping up with Carney and Davison...
