Harry Redknapp will quit as Southampton boss at the end of the season - regardless of whether they beat the drop or not.




The Saints are staring down the barrel after Sunday's loss to south coast rivals Portsmouth left them bottom of the Premiership with only three games to go.

Redknapp joined the club in December on an 18-month contract with the sole purpose of helping them avoid relegation.

Speculation had it that should he fail in his quest, he would leave the club for a new manager to guide them back into the top-flight.

However, the Guardian reports that the 58-year-old will quit the post even if he somehow manages a miraculous turnaround in the club's fortunes.

If that is the case, the new manager will be Southampton's fourth in the last 18 months.
