Prove me wrong Berbatov. |

My heart says that I'm 100% sure that I want him to stay. My head says that I'm 60% sure that he will stay. Overall then, I've voted 'yes' - he will stay.
I sincerely hope I'm right but there is still a huge amount of doubt in my mind; I'm not at all sure what will happen. There's plenty to keep him at Spurs though; there's more reasons for him to stay than reasons for him to leave, in my opinion. He's clearly much happier than he was at the beginning of the season. The whole club was in turmoil; Jol was quickly losing support; we simply weren't getting results or performing on the pitch. This was in stark contrast to Berbatov's first season with us, in which he scored plenty of spectacular goals and formed a great understanding and partnership with Keano. He seemed happy then - until the rumours started. Rumours are terrible things when they involve your club's players leaving, yet we'd be hypocritical to condemn the rumours because we love to see Spurs linked with top players and we even make threads about them. I think the speculation unsettled Berbatov though and it made him question whether or not he'd moved to the right club. Whilst at Leverkusen, he probably saw a move to Spurs - a Premiership club who are challenging for Champs League football - as a step-up. When things started to go pear-shaped earlier this season, he questioned his move and I think that's natural. Every player wants to win things and be as successful as they can, unless they are emotionally attached to a club and stay there for that reason. Berbs had no real reason to love Spurs (not at the time anyway but hopefully he's beginning to), so he probably considered what it'd be like to play for a club such as Man United. He's certainly good enough to play for whoever he wants to and he's probably torn between ambition and loyalty. Since Ramos has come onto the scene, Berbatov's body-language and overall play suggests that he's now much happier to be at the club. His work-rate has improved and he's scoring goals; his partnership with Keane has been reinvigorated; the shows of frustration are still present but they're part of his character and will never completely disappear. Our results against the top four have improved in recent times and that must be encouraging for him. The fact that we've won a trophy and secured European football for next season are also huge factors; he now knows that he can win things here. Ramos himself is another huge factor. I'm sure Berbs must respect him because his reputation and tactical awareness are both top-notch, making him one of the best coaches in Europe at present. He's got a winning mentality and once the team is strengthened over the summer, we should be in a position to do some great things next season. There's an aura of excitement, anticipation and expectation at Spurs and hopefully Berbs can feel it. I don't think Berbs would move for money alone, although I could be wrong. Also, he seems to be happy enough in London, as far as I know. Apart from that, the only thing that might make him move is ambition. The question is: have the changes at Spurs this season convinced him that he can fulfill his ambitions with us? |

I think he'll stay. We're going places with Ramos and every one knows it. If we fail to break the top 4 or win a trophy next season then he'll most likely be off.
Apparently City are lining up a £31m (or was it £32m?) bid for him in the summer |

Citeh are [beep!] clowns.
Im more confident of him staying than leaving, earlier on in the season I was sure he was off but with the way things have been going lately I think he'll stay, for three reasons. 1. Ramos - The obvious one, we have a real winner here, one that can back it up with trophies and real progress in the league. Berbatov has hailed him as the perfect man for the job and I think he can see where we can go with Ramos in charge. 2. Keane - Plain to see the chemistry these two have on the pitch but off of it too I think they have struck up a great friendship. They always go to each other to celebrate anything, after the Carling Cup win thought they were going to get it on! 3. The Defence - I think earlier on this season it was plain to see Berbatovs frustration with the defence and tactics under Jol. He would score one or two goals only to see silly goals conceded at the back and his efforts amount to nothing. He can see Ramos is serious about sorting out our defensive problems and the purchas' of Hutton and Woodgate further show that. |

I have a sneaky feeling he will still be at the lane next season.
The biggest factor on him staying would be Ramos in my opinion - a few months into his reign he has made his mark and is clear where he wants to take us. Had he not taken over, Berbs would already be as good as gone. As Jono mentioned his pairing with Keane would be a big factor - there won't be too many players he will be able to link up with so quickly and with such understanding. I also think he maybe didn't help his own case when the situation under Jol was going a little pear-shaped...the negative body-language, huffing & puffing - that wouldn't have endeared him to your Ferguson's and Co....which is our gain in the long run hopefully. Like many earlier on in the season, I thought he would be leaving in the summer - but with a strong manager and a winners medal to start, I think maybe just maybe he'll be gracing our ground with his presence next season... |

Dont think we have to worry about Yanited anyway, they are about to spend 20mill on Tevez and wont have 30 more for another striker IMO.
Chelsea, Milan, Madrid are another story. |

If anything I'd rather him go to Milan or Madrid than any team in England.

For sure, no longer can we sell our best players to the big four. Shows a real lack of ambition. Levy needs to put his foot down and say to Berbs if you must leave you are going overseas, no way sell him domestically. |

For want of being ostracised from the forum ............... he has got to go . Its his attitude that does it for me , i dont think he wants to stay for 1 , and 2 i think he thinks he's too good for Spurs and he should be playing Champions League . Until the end of the season he'll showcase himself so his agent , who seems to have a lot to say in the press , can tout him to the big european clubs .
So thats a no from me |

Sorry Jono , but its a game of opinions and thats mine

Well then keep it to yourself! Just kidding
I'd love him to be at The Lane next season but I'm afraid I can't see it. As Yobbo said, I really hope he proves me wrong. |

Another thing that makes me think he will stay is why else is Ramos still playing him?
I think its safe to say Ramos knows with quite a bit of certainty whether Berbs is staying or going and if he was going why is he continuing with the Keane Berbs partnership every game? Surely it would make more sense to get Keane and Bent playing together and forming a partnership now instead of next season. |

I can't see it but for you Spurs fans I hope he stays...

I hope he stays but me heart thinks he will go. His agent plays a big part in what he does more than other players. If he does go just hope he goes away from england

i cant see it myself...we are a club going place's but he is a player who desserves to be on the big stage(champs league) and i dont think we will make it that far for atleast a couple of years!!

I think he will stay until January at least. I think he will be interested to see how Ramos starts when he has control from the beginning. Obviously he will be selected for UEFA Cup matches, meaning he will be cup-tied for Champion's League games (should he move).
I think he will stay though. |
