Register yourself as a Spurs fan on Football.co.uk in this thread, most of us know each other but might be good to say a little about yourself and how you got into Spurs, where you support from etc.

Very Happy

Here Sir.

I've supported The Mighty Spurs all my life. My Dad has always been a fan and I've picked up my love of Spurs from him. When my Dad was very young he used to live quite close to The Lane with his parents (my Grandad was also a Spurs fan), before moving just outside of London to the area where I currently live.

I go to games as regularly as I can but that's not too often of late as I'm usually away studying. Nevertheless, I still follow Spurs as much as I can and can honestly say that I'm proud to be a Lilywhite, and always will be. Cool

Been a fan all my life (44 now Confused ) , used to stand in the enclosure , hence the name . My grandad used to work on the turnstiles , never missed a game for a few years home or away even in europe during our UEFA cup win , used to date a girl who's dad renewed the gold leaf on the cockcerel outside the lane , at the game when we won 9-0 and Ian Moores scored 4 (yep Ian Moores Shocked ) .......... sorry rambling .

I thought it was ever since you lost 4-0 three times in a row you changed teams.

Right I'll answer this propperly. My Dad started supporting them in 67 when we won the FA Cup (I think it was 67) because he was a little glory hunter. Then my brother was brought up to support them and because I copied every thing my brother did I started supporting them.

My dad supported them because his dad did. Not sure how much further back it goes, but my dad is the reason I support them. When I asked him why he wanted me to support Spurs, he said he had to have at least 1 son to pass it on to. Basically my local club as well; could easily walk there if I wasn't lazy.
So I've been a Spurs fan all my life, had a season ticket for the past 3 seasons, and I went to my first game back in August 1997. (Vs Fiorentina, David Howells Testamonial, lost 2-0. I remember Batistuta scoring, and we wore blue.)
The first shirt I had was the 1991 shirt that we won the FA Cup in. I didn't really get into football until 1997, when I had to beg my mum for all the Spurs kits. From 1997 until 2004, I had every kit, not just the shirts, but shorts and socks as well (not goalkeepers).
I remember watching the 1999 League Cup final at home with my dad, and when Allan Nielsen scored, we went mental. It was the first piece of silverware I had actually understood that we won (being just 1 and a half in 1991).
I watched the 2002 League Cup Final in the bar at my first Football Club. I remember Christien Ziege equalising with a great goal before Andy Cole scored to give Blackburn the win.
I was at Wembley in February to watch us beat Chel$ki 2-1 in the League Cup Final. It was such a fantastic moment to be a Spurs fan; coming from behind to beat Chel$ki in a cup final, after thrashing Ar5ena1 to get there.
The best game I have personally been at was ofcourse the 5-1 drubing of Arsenal on January 22nd 2008. Words can not describe the buzz around the stadium on that night.

There's my Spurs life story for you all Smile

Here's my little story:

Being born and bred in Luton, I supported my home town team originally. What initially switched my attention to Spurs was Mitchell Thomas - the ex Luton, Spurs, West Ham and Burnley full back. My Dad knew him and his family really well; in fact his Mum used to work in our family business. My Dad introduced me to Thomas just after he signed for Spurs, so I started following their games too. That season Spurs reached the final of the FA Cup but lost to Coventry 3-2. Naturally I was also following Luton, and I distinctly remember the Town beating the Arsenal scum 3-2 a couple of years later, so that victory tasted sweet on both sides of my support! Very Happy

I stopped watching league football for a while after that; my interest only kept in World Cups and Euros...international football really. What rekindled my love for domestic football was when Juergen Klinsmann signed for Spurs back in 1994. After watching the World Cup that year, I was amazed that a world class foreign footballer was happy to ply his trade over here and when I heard it was Spurs, I was over the moon. To me, that was when the Premiership as a top class product was really born as we started to see other great foreign players arrive over here. I've followed Spurs closely ever since, although naturally I always keep an eye out for Luton's scores too.

The first Spurs game I attended was a 3-2 home win against Coventry City and guess who scored for the away side that day???...a very young Robbie Keane!!! The best match I've seen was the incredible 7-2 annihilation of Southampton at the Lane - Glenn Hoddle was their manager!

I've only been to a couple of matches this season (City at home, Chelsea away) but plan to go to at least 10 matches next season.

I've been a Spurs fan since very young, I have family in Enfield and Abbots Langley...so it was either Spurs or Watford for me, and I went for the Lillywhites.

My earliest memory was Ricky Villa's wonder goal in the 1981 Cup Final replay against Man City - I'll never forget how the white shirt looked almost silver-white and that Le Coq Sportif kit was my very first kit bought for me at Christmas, along with the navy shorts and white socks Very Happy

I then moved to Basingstoke in Hampshire, and my very first game was around the 84/85 season at home to Watford - it was a birthday treat, and my Dad took me along with 2 friends and we sat in the family enclosure with our caps and flags. It was a brilliant day out but disasterous result, we lost 5-1 with John Barnes and Luther Blisset on form for the Hornets that day.
For the next few years I would get the complete home and away kits - my Dad was very good to me. I had the '82 Centenary home and light blue away, the '83 Holsten Le Coq Sportif home and away, and the all white home hummel kit from 85.
I would then just get the shirts and regret having only kept some of my old one's from over the years.

The best game I saw live at the Lane was either the 7-2 v Saints or my last one, which was against Villa on the Bank Holiday weekend in '05, we won 5-1 - we had great seats right down the front Very Happy
I've seen them away a few times over the years at complete dives like The Dell and Selhurst Park, and the best individual performance I saw was Robbie Keane's hatrick v Wolves in '03 - I drove to that game with the missus, and on leaving the Lane were stuck in traffic down the High Street for hours...but we got to see the players in their flash cars come the opposite way stuck in the same traffic - we were like little kids cheering & clapping at the players who would embarrassedly wave back - Teddy (and his son), Simon Davies, Robbie, Stevie Carr...and we let Jamie & Louise Redknapp out in front of us - she smiled and waved, I think she fancied me Laughing I know we're sad, and since then we now claim to be personal friends of the Redknapps (in our heads!)

Prior to moving to Ireland 2.5 years ago I would get down to The Lane about 4-5 times a season, unfortunately I haven't made it since hopping over the water.

Johaldo - on a side note, I used to really like Mitchell Thomas - he was quality! The Luton team from back then were great, Brian Stein, Ricky Hill, Paul Walsh...Frankie Bunn! I was also at that 7-2 game v Southampton in 2000, where the Saints wore a dodgy black away kit with yellow socks! Chris Armstrong was leading the front line and scored a couple if I remember rightly.
