No. at this stage in the season he gets a warning and no suspension. thats what was said in commentary anyway. there must be a cut off date for the 5 bookings suspension

Only on this forum will you check a thread on the biggest derby in English football just after the final whistle and be treated to a conversation about which players is the best/worst looking...

Anyway, that game was simple for Liverpool because Everton just didn't look like they wanted it that much in my opinion. I thought the line-up Moyes put out was resigned to failure from the beginning to be honest, Yakubu is never going to take a game against a better team by the scruff of the neck when being played up top alone. It just meant that every time Everton went forward they had nowhere to go which just got boring after a while....

A side note for me, I've heard Liverpool fans rave about Babel for a while now saying he's going to be this and that when he settles and from next season on he'll be one of the best wingers in Europe.... Not for me, I just don't see it in him to be honest. Don't get me wrong, he has a bit of promise and will develop more but I don't think he'll be at the forefront as a star of the future. There will be times when he pulls off something special and people will laud praise on him but overall I don't think he'll be that great. That's just my opinion, you can quote me on it in the future and maybe next season you can reflect on what I've said to gloat about it and I'll admit I was wrong if that's the case but I'm pretty confident.

Thoughts on that?

eeeewlll kuyt is not that bad looking?...under what rock have you been sleeping. Im talking about dirk kuyt. Shocked

That's not what i said. You said Ribery was better looking. I said Kuyt isn't THAT bad looking. No one is as bad looking as Ribery.

Lescott isn't even bad looking in my opinion. I think he's better lookign than Skrtel, Kuyt, Agbonlahor, Kitson, Harper, Tevez, Rooney, Distin, Carsley, Dunne, Sagna, Wheater, Sidwell, Kiely and Paddy Kenny.

That could be the case, but i doubt it, because it's hard to say at this stage.

Plenty of players with potential have struggled at this stage, especially after changing leagues and clubs, and not being played in their best position.

Look at Flamini, Clichy, Bentley, Glen Johnson etc.

Yep, I'm not saying he will be a total Harry Kewell-esque flop because he won't be but I'm simply stating my opinion in response to how I've heard Liverpool fans talk about him.

I haven't watched every Liverpool match this season but I've watched a good few and for me he just doesn't have that spark about him where you think "Yes, he's definitely going to be at the top of the game in the future". He has potential and undoubted ability but I'm really not surprised why Arsene Wenger had a look at him and decided to give it a miss.

If I was going to do a straight comparison I'd go with Babel and Nani, both the same age in the same position with Babel just having that bit more experience. I look at Babel and he seems a little more settled in his progression as a footballer whereas if I look at Nani he just strikes me as the more raw, fearless and hungry of the two. In my opinion Nani looks as if he is sitting on a more steep curve of progression where I can look forward with confidence that he will come on very rapidly over the next few seasons and that is the area where I'd think about Babel and I'd be a bit more unsure about him.

But I won't get too far ahead of the issue, it isn't dead set by any means and it has the possibility to go either way, I could be correct and I could be dead wrong. If I'm proved wrong I'll be the first to admit it but that's just the feel I get from Babel.

Well i haven't been one to rant and rave about Babel this season. He has done a decent job for someone bought for the future. At times sublime, often lacking the confidence to try things or anonymous.

I'm hoping his confidence grows, and he is more willing to try things and use his pace, because when he does he can be deadly. Confidence seems to have a big impact on him.

As for Nani. I think you're right. He does seems to have that raw talent that will shine through. I'd prefer to have him if i'm honest. I think he's better, but i can't complain with Babel. He could end up a lot better than Nani, but equally, he could end up a lot worse. Either way, AT LEAST HE ISN'T LENNON!!!!

I'm confident Babel can become a very good player if played in his best position (i don't know where that is, but it's not on the left, unless he improves his left foot!).

Was nice to win the derby but as usual we made hard work of it. All over them in the 1st half but while it was only 1 nil Everton would have belief. They came back into it a little in the 2nd but we were always comfortable to be honest.

Shameful dive by the yak Rolling Eyes

Oh & Kuyt is ugly, the girls are right Cool

Onwards to Wednesday & part 1 of 3 vs the Arsenal Razz

His armband said he was a red, Torres, Torres
You'll never walk alone it said, Torres, Torres
We bought the lad from sunny spain, he gets the ball he scores again

True that. I was excited about Lennon to the point where I used to wind BJ up about Sir Alex coming down and pinching him but he's been overtaken by the likes of Bentley and Young it seems. So it shows how wrong you can be about first impressions on players, especially wingers.

What were the Everton fans singing to Gerrard to the tune of the Adebayor song, i assume it is something to do with the story mentioned above?
