No it wasn't the volume, it was the quality of the sound i wasn't happy with. But i did what i said i did and its all sorted.

Just a little question, is there any reason why my computer is running painfully slow at times? It's XP and all that, so is there any reason why?

funny you should mention that ....exactly my problem a while back . I did the usual ......deep virus scan ....deep spyware scan ......not the basic scans ......the full `takes bloody ages` scan . Then i used a registry cleaner and cleared up all sorts of junk ...old entries ...etc .

Then do a hard drive defrag .....not using windows ...a proper program defrag , i used Auslogics Disk Defrag ....it is free and does a full and proper job....may take a few hours or so but is worth it ...my hard drive was clearly faster afterwards .

After that if still slow ....youre buggered .. Wink

well ..whatever anti-virus or anti-spyware software you are using ....they usually have a settings option where you can do a number of different scans ...ie quick scan ...takes 5-10 mins , full scan ...takes 30 mins or more ....or , a deep or intense scan which can take ages ....2 hrs or more ....it does scan absolutely everything though ..

The defrag software Auslogics is free and you just dowload it and then click defrag ....very good job it does too , just google it .

The registry cleaner is the same ...they will clear up old files in the registry , stuff left over from games or software installed months or years ago ...all thes things slow down you computer or hard drive .

Or if you have XP you should also be able to use system restore ....also a great way to get your computer back to when it was working ok ..

ah ok, i get ya.

So is the defrag software Auslogics one worth doing then? can you use the computer while its doing its job, or do you have to leave it?

My brother formatted my computer today and all of a sudden my MSN password doesn't work Mad

I have the same password for everything, tried 600 variations of it and I got nothing. I tried reseting my password with the 'Alternate Email' option but I have no clue where the email went because its not on either of my alternate emails.

Also using contact details and my secret question didn't work. The question isn't the one I had set! It was my question from before and I have no clue of the answer.

Anyone know what to do?

Yeah I was thinking the same.

Although the form I had to fill out to reset my password, I had to reinstall Firefox because it didn't show on Microsoft Internet Explorer. Laughing

Format is great, as long as you backup the important information.

Conner, i did the defragmentation thing, and only sped it up by 8%. Is there anything else that can make a bigger improvement?
