Right I'm trying to watch a stream on justin.tv to watch the United friendly but the buffering is neverending and after a while it just gives up. Now as you can see, my connection is hardly sluggish for evening time so I really shouldn't be having problems. I can watch streams on SopCast perfectly but it's a no go from this site.

Any ideas? I think that this site uses adobe player whereas SopCast enlists WMP to play videos.

any ideas please?

I've also just noticed that on my toolbar at the bottom right of my screen near my time it says 'VIRUS ALERT!'

what is this and can it be removed?

EDIT: No problem now everyone,i fixed it thank god Wink

Are you browsing the forum from work or home?

If at work, it could by your company firewall causing the problem.

If at home, it could be your firewall or browser settings. To check, try the page using another browser (firefox, chrome, safari, opera)

Let us know how you get on.

ok, I have done a quick search to find instructions for you to follow to successfully remove that virusremover2008 program. It is a rogue program and makes up a list of virus' and Malware to trick you into purchasing their own software.

Let me know how you get on

cheers o dogg seems to have stopped bothering me constantly however the programme is still on my computer and wont let me remove it on add/remove programmes.

this maybe down to i cant seem to find the final step of instructions

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[LISTED USER]\Local Settings\Temp, click Edit, click Select All, press DELETE, and then click Yes to confirm that
you want all the items to go to the Recycle Bin.

Which part of that path can you not find?
Also you may be able to remove the program in SafeMode with networking...

Either that or download a program called CCleaner, and try removing it using that.

are you sure that the program is still on your computer , the add/remove programs section does sometimes leave an entry for software that you have got rid of ...it is usually when you have had problems removing certain programs .

There is a little program called TweakUI that can remove the entries in add/remove programs ....just google it to find out more info ....

Its gone now i think my computer just needed rebooting again? Well when i have starteded up today its not there. Very Happy

I would like to thank O Dogg very much as i thought i was off to PC world to pick upa bill to get it fixed also a big thank you to conner for your advice.

Next question however is i have purchased McAfee online ( i know you hate it O Dogg lol) but due to me now living in the wilderness i have dial up and there for my connection goes after 2hours. Which stops my download of the McAfee. Any suggestions or do i need to phone or email them and get it sent out to me?

Many thanks to all who reply

Unfortunately there is no real way around this other than to get a download manager.
Download Download Accelerator Plus (DAP) - this will allow you to get your full bandwidth (which you should be getting anyway being on Dial Up) but it should also allow you to resume downloads if you cut off.

Can anyone give a little advice please....

Nicki's dads TFT monitor has gone silly, when u boot the pc up at the start windows flashes up for about 2 seconds and then the whole monitor goes dead,we've tried different leads and a different monitor so it's not the actual pc that's faulty

Does it sound like the monitor has gone or can it be maybe fixed?
