After the Carling Cup win over Reading , Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expressed how pleased he was with his youngsters "Overall I'm very pleased for the boys, because it's great experience to be in there. "They are all under 23, some are 18, some are 22. Overall they have a great spirit - I rate them all. But it's very difficult to say now who will make a big career at Arsenal - they all look to have a chance. So who has the best chances of making it through to the first team squad ..players such as Owusu-Abeyie , Lupoli , Eboue , Larsson , Connolly .
The Arsenal team last night Almunia, Eboue, Larsson, Senderos, Gilbert, Muamba, Djourou, Flamini, Reyes, Owusu-Abeyie, Van Persie. Subs: Cygan, Poom, Bendtner, Connolly, Lupoli. |

I feel Arsenal have a lot of youngsters who can make the step up to the first team.
At the moment I am really impressed with the Danish wonderkid Nicklas Bendtner who will be turning 18 in a couple of weeks. He is 6'3" but his ability to win balls in the air is only a small part of his game because he is a striker with an all-round game, which has resulted in the Danish press saying that he is the best player to come out of their country since the Laudrup brothers. I've seen Bendtner in a few games now and would agree with him when he says says: "I cannot easily compare the way I play to any player that I know of. I'm quite big and strong but I like running at defenders, as well as winning balls in the air, but I think my main asset is my vision." Arsenal certainly find some of the best young players in the world as I could name lots more players who I feel have a great chance of progressing through to the first team. |
