Although not much is ever said concerning Soccer played in Mexico, I thought I'd post this little tid bit of news.

Chivas (Guadalajara, Mexico) recalled Dutchman Han Westerhof as coach, replacing Spaniard Javier Azcargorta who was let go 3 days ago after the squad missed the Mexican League playoffs.

Han's began his coaching career in 1986, and has managed Groningen (1988-92 and 1994-96), PSV Eindhoven (1992-1994), the Dutch U-21 national team (1996-97), Ajax Amsterdam (2000), and Willem II Tilburg (2000-03). Westerhof originally joined Chivas de Guadalajara in 2003 to oversee the club's soccer operation, and took over as head coach in October of that year. He stepped down as coach after the Clausura 2004 season. On June 3, 2005, Guadalajara's "sister" team, Chivas USA (MLS), named Westerhof its head coach. He was then replaced at the end of this season by Bob Bradley and returned back to the team in Guadalajara.

FOOTNOTE: Chivas of Guadalajara is known as being the only team in Mexico to never have a player that wasn't a Mexican national (born in Mexico) play for them. They are sometimes referred to as Mexico's 2nd National team.
