Most important thing about the walk to Aussie stadium are the number of great pubs along the way. It should take 15 minutes, but you should give yourself a couple of hours just to be on the safe side.
Yeah General, only 8 teams in the comp. Adelaide United were around for the last season of the old league and Perth Glory have been around for a few years, all the rest are brand-spanking new clubs (although the NZ team was born directly from their old club in the old comp). Perth Glory were seen as the template for the new comp. I found a few pictures of the stadiums, some of them don't really do them justice but anyway I've put them at the following links Hindmarsh Stadium (Adelaide United) Central Coast Stadium (Central Coast Mariners) Olympic Park Stadium (Melbourne Victory) North Harbour Stadium (New Zealand Knights) Energy Australia Stadium (Newcastle Jets) Members Equity Stadium (Perth Glory) Suncorp Stadium (Queensland Roar) Aussie Stadium (Sydney FC) |

You're right Jamie, the Queensland stadium is used for rugby league as well, and from the posts on the field you can see it's a league match being played for that crowd. But yeah it looks imposing. In New South Wales it's known as having an intimidating atmosphere for some of the big rugby league matches.
madhatter, if you like you can email the pics to me at disillusionist@exemail.com.au I can put them up on an image-hosting site where I have an account and then post the links on here. |

Yeah it is surprising and I don't think the FFA were particularly keen on clubs using the really big stadiums yet for that reason as to be honest there's no chance in hell of filling them. Looks better on TV if you use smaller venues with fewer empty seats and you'd imagine there'd be a better atmosphere.

Here's a great picture of the Perth Glory Shed provided by madhatter:
Nice one. Would be even better if there was more purple happening - which goes back to what you've been saying about the merchandising. |

aaah so you are a memebr of the infamous squadron "ooooooooooh when the jets go flying in, oh when the jets go flying in......." i too am a great jets supporter but im now stuck living in sydney. ive been to each of new south wales' stadiums and they are all brilliant in their own way. the SFS (aussie stadium) is a bloody awesom stadium, huge an beautiful. cental coast (bluetongue stadium) is creates a great atmosphere and is right on the picturesque 'brisbane waters'. but the EAS in Newcastle is the best....... why? coz the jets play there. GO THE JETS |
