Inter To Pick Ibra Against Advice |
|
Internazionale are set to ignore medical advice suggesting star player Zlatan Ibrahimovic should be rested when they pick him for the squad to face Lazio this weekend...
The club met with Professor Alfredson in Sweden yesterday - with club doctor Franco Combi present - and it was announced that surgery would not be required to cure the Swedish international's problem with his left knee. It was however advised that the former Ajax and Juventus forward be rested for at least a week in order to fully recover before returning to action. Inter, in poor form and running the risk of blowing a once unassailable lead at the top of Serie A, are said to be extremely eager to ensure their leading scorer and primary creative force plays as many games as possible during the season run-in. The injury caused Ibra to pull out of Sweden's friendly with Brasil this evening, which they lost by a single Pato goal to nil. Esteban Cambiasso and Luis Figo also recently sustained injuries, but look to have recovered in time to travel to Rome this weekend I wonder in what conditions Ibra is going to join Sweden for Euro08 |

I actually don't want him to play for Sweden. I'd rather he give us more action at club play.
But I agree with the doctors that he should not play this match if he needs to be rested. Always listen to this sort of advice. |
