Everton, Villa, Portsmouth, Spurs and Blackburn are likely candidates. All have made massive improvements. But which team do you reckon will be the most likely to break into the top 4 and compete regularly for a CL spot starting next season???
No disrespect to the other teams that I may have left out. But the above are the teams I personally feel have the most realistic chances. Feel free to post your choice and state why you think they have a chance if they are not one of the teams in the poll. |

Well Everton are the closest at the moment, if Moyes gets some money for investment in the squad over the next season or two they have built a solid foundation for a push on into this realm.
Next id say Spurs currently have the potential to break into this club, as long as Ramos is in charge, Levy is financing the way he does and we can attract top class players like Berbatov, Woodgate and Hutton we will have the chance to get there. After this offseasons signings i believe people will tip us for top four spot, but personally I dont think we'll get there. Villa have the potential with Oneil in charge, but it will take a bit longer IMO, if they are to get there it will take continuity and investment in the squad over the next 3 seasons before they are ready. Pompey are the same but the difference is theydont have the ambition IMO, they are quite happy to spend the next few seasons securing their Premiership status, they dont want ot over invest and risk financial ruin in the chase for a CL spot imo. Blackburn, Newcastle, City etc would take like 3 seasons and a major change in direction to get there IMO. |

i just cant see it happening. these clubs, and i would include us in that personally, can only improve so much before a hit a wall.
the vast Champions League investment sets those already in the top four at a much bigger advantage and would help them consistently compete. i cant see any one other club consistently getting into the Champions League. there may be a lucky season but then they would go back to where they belong. |

I hate to say it but I think Spurs will be challenging for top 4 next season. I think Ramos will improve the squad and that will make Berbatov want at least one more season.
I don't know which team, if any, will drop to allow Spurs 4th or better, I think they will all be pretty close to each other and it will come down to the games between them. I guess it could come down to who stays and goes. Will Drogba and Lamps still be at Chelsea? That could be key. I don't see where Everton will improve but I think they will be making things difficult for the others. |

none of them but Spurs are the only team that are worthy of a top 4 position outside of the top 4 (based on there squad) , but its not going to happen so dont get your hopes up yiddos lol

Disagree, we are nowhere near worthy with our current squad. Back four and front two maybe but the most important parts of the team the midfield and keeper is full of absolute dross. Players that just arent good enough for the next level. But...watch this space. I think the midfield will be Ramos' top priority in the offseason. |

not going to happen mate , especially since d.i.c are advancing everyday behind doors in there bid to buy Liverpool , the season after they arrive so.. lets say they arrive this summer ... i think we will win the league the year after that (09/10) , if they dont take over , then i can see us in this same position every year , fighting for 4th position , not winning any of the big 4 games.... |

Maybe there wont be a break in the top 4, there might just be a top 5.

it's a "top 3" this season anyway , Liverpool have been nowhere near the quality this season to be classed a top 4 team..... |

We are miles behind from Manchester United and Arsenal. The gulf is big enough between Liverpool and those teams. It's a massive gulf between those teams and Newcastle. I do believe though a top 6 place isn't out of the question though for next season providing Keegan can find 2 or 3 key players to strength the squad and a few extras for backup. |

1 - You have an incapable manager. 2 - You have a [beep!] defence 3 - Poor midfield with no creativity 4 - Injury prone front line I have no doubt you will improve next season but will not be in the top 6. Teams such as Tottenham, Everton, Pompy, Blackburn, Aston villa and possibly West Ham will all be challenging for the same spot as what you seem to think you can get. |
