Discuss who you think is the greatest basketball player of all time here.

A poll will be set up once we have some nominations followed by a vote. Winner will be added to the big thread.

Can't argue with Jordan for me.

I'll throw in Magic Johnson as well.

It's Jordan.

Quiz question though: Who is the man who stands as the outline for the NBA badge.

He was pretty damn good as well. Wink

aka mr Clutch I believe. Smile

Thread reminds me of a bad Scrubs joke that only someone who likes basketball would get.

Carla: "If my hair get's even a little wet it frizzes up like Dr J."

Elliot: "Is he in Radiology."

Yeah I know....

Coat.

Going to sound bias coming from a Jazz fan, but I'm going to nominate John Stockton. Simply one of the greatest point guards ever to grace the court, holding unbelievable records to this day for the most assists and steals in the NBA. Missing just 22 games in a career spanning 19 years, and he had five of the top six assists seasons in NBA history . He holds the NBA record for the most seasons and consecutive games played with one team, and is third in total games played, as well as this he formed one of the most exciting 1-2 partnerships with fellow legend Karl Malone and featured heavily for the US basketball team.

As much as i like and admire Stockton you do sound extremely biased saying he was the best bball player ever, Floody.

I also nominate Jordan, of course. Followed by Bird and Magic. I'm not gonna talk about players i've never seen play (only highlights) though, like Robertson, Chamberlain, Dr J etc.

Stockton was a great player, but nowhere near the greatest, IMO. I could name at least 50-100 players to rank above him. But I'll add him to the poll, still.

50-100 players you HAVE SEEN PLAYING?

you would be wrong. he's definitely one of the best, just not THE best.

But the point of this all is to see who the greatest of ALL TIME is. Not just of who we've seen.

I could probably list 30 better than Stockton from whom I've seen, just to respond to what you're saying.
