I will never do the London to Brighton bike ride again. My hat goes off to all those that do it every year , they deserve all the praise that comes there way.

The bloody ride nearly killed me , especially going up the Beacon , common sense came to me and walked most of that. I did compete 54 miles in about 6 hrs which was good going as I thought I'd still be doing at midnight Laughing Me entire body hurts and boy was I stiff yesterday. But I did prove a point to a Arsenal fan at work who said I wouldn't be able to do it

I'd injured me knee previous to doing it in training but went against medical advice and did anyway. Spent yesterday in hospital getting it sorted and I've done me mcl ligament so I'm now in a knee brace licking me wounds. Waiting now to see a knee specalist to see if I need a knee op.

Wow, now that's dedication. Hopefully they'll be able to fix your knee right up.

why do people do that .... Confused i may be being a bit harsh on Smithy but you have to say you are asking for trouble doing a 54 mile bike ride after your doctor or whoever advising against it .

But well done on completeing the ride anyway , hope your knee is not too bad after all . Wink

I can see where your coming from Conner , I would advise people not to do it as well , even if they have a slight sprain. But we sometimes think we know best when it comes to our bodies and I thought between painkillers and a knee brace I would get through it. Well I'm suffering now and really wish I hadn't done it.

I'm still on a high though as I managed to actually finish it Razz

As long as you have a full recovery it's all right.
