I just finished watching Real against Racing at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, in which Racing pulled off a shocking 2-1 win. I have to say, ZZ, Beckham and youngster Balboa seemed like they were the only ones interested in playing. In fact, Robinho was substituted at the half, and Ronaldo decided to start playing with about 20 minutes left, otherwise he was very lazy and expecting to have all the balls put at his feet without doing any work. It goes without saying, the fans were very unhappy not only at the final whistle, but showed their disapproval at the half as well.

Again, on the bright side, Javier Balboa created problems down the side with his quickness and ball control, but in the end total play of Real just lacked. One also wonders why manager Juan Ramon Lopez Caro waited until the 89th minute to sub in Julio Baptista?

Madrid will now start the New Year 11 points behind Barcelona. Are there title hopes over?

I think Madrid won't win La Liga. Still that they are 11 points behind Barça I think that this is not the main problem. The problem is that Madrid aren't playing like a team and it seems that won't change during this season.

Another defeat at the hands of one of the 'lesser' teams in La Liga, bad news for this club.

The players have to take full responsibility i think, they need a leader in the dressing room who will stand up and tell them they are all crap and need to stand up and fight for their places in the team and for pride.

For the next match the manager needs to drop all the big names that arent performing and bring in players from the reserves, that should give them a wake up call.

I'm agree with you Jono but I think that the next match the same players will continue playing if they aren't injured. I don't think players like Zidane, Ronaldo, Beckam or Roberto Carlos go to the bench.

I watched the first half nd Real were terrible, Racing were playing much better and the Madrid defence was terrible, especially for the second goal and they could have had another few goals. How did Robinho miss though from about one yard when the keeper saved both of his shots.

Ronaldinho: Fifa and European Player of the year
Eto'o: African Player of the year and 3rd Fifa player of the year
What did Messi win?
Scary club, ain't it?

Barca and Chelsea are my favorite clubs. But I will go for Barca for the CL.

Afrinux, if you are referring to the picture and asking who won what, it's my understanding (from watching this scene b/4 Barcelona's game) that those 3 awards all belong to Ronaldinho and he asked them to come out and hold them up........

These awards don't belong all to Ronaldinho. Messi has won Golden boy award and Eto'o the third best player of the world

Real Madrid match was terrible, once again. Balboa and Soldado played the day before with Castilla (the Real Madrid B) and they had to play also yesterday because it seems they are the only who wants to fight, it's amazing.

It looks like the title race is already over. The same thing is happening in all the top leagues in Europe though, look at Juve-Italy, Bayern-Germany, Lyon-France, Chelsea-England. They are the top leagues and all of them look won already
