nope.. not at all..

just because he doesn't score as much as he did for this season.. doesn't mean he's no longer a shining star.. he's still an essential player to the team..

What a ridiculous thread.

Rooney is one of the most gifted players in the world.

It is the nature of the world we live in that an excellent season from C.Ronaldo puts him rubbing shoulders with Maradona but a stop start one from Rooney means his career is over.

As a player Rooney is probably the best "Support Striker" in the world. He scores a goal every 2 and a half games on average and his set up play is top class. On his day he is simply unplayable. His problem is that he is not a natural goalscorer but his ridiculous ability more than makes up for this fact. His vision, creativity, movement off the ball, strength and power make him a player to be feared across the world.

Both C.Ronaldo (23) and Rooney are young, gifted players who will go from strength to strength over the next few years.

Need I remind you that Rooney_79586.shtml'>Wayne Rooney is 22 years old!

Rooney has (along with Scholes) by far the best footballing brain in the United side, and certainy in the National side.
He doesn't receive the hype that he did a couple of seasons ago as I think Ronaldo seems to takes all the plaudits and Rooney's subtle work goes relatively un-noticed.
Mark Lawrensen is an ardent admirer.
Rooney's best position is still yet to be established, although with United he is encouraged to roam quite freely. He and Tevez play well together.
So an emphatic no is the answer to this one!
