NZ Knights and Danny Hay part ways. |
|
From the Knights Website
After lengthy discussions, Danny Hay’s contract with the NZ Knights Football Club has been terminated. Knights CEO, Steve O’Hara, said: “Part of the process of review and planning for next season is to highlight those issues that are in the best interest of this Club and professional football in this country – therefore we are pleased with the conclusion of our discussions. The Club can now move forward with a clearer vision for the future.” The details of the agreement will remain confidential to both parties. *** Well we all knew this was coming, i still hoped they could sort it out tho. Shame we have to lose such an experienced campaigner as Hay. |

No offence Jono but the best thing for the A-League would be to get rid of NZ. Thats 3 players gone and were only 2/3 of the season thru. Bring in Canberra or Wollongong.

How will that make the A League better tho? Surely they should be trying to build the number of clubs up, not kicking out the ones in trouble.

Well really have only themselves to blame! Why not sign Fisher or Vaughan Coveny?? We picked Coveny up and he made an instant impact scoring for us against the Glory. He also said he wouldve gone there if given the opportunity.
And if Wollongong came in i could go an extra away trip |

We will sort ourselves for next season, just you watch. Anyway, we have a 5 year contract so if you kick us out we will sue!!! ahh haha! |

You have a five year contract subject to FIFA review each season- if your not up scractch then the contract can be voided.
Id give you guys one more season, but losing three players this way means its fairly clear that off the field the Knights are in disarray |

Well after the season they've had, we've been coming to the conclusion that wiping th slate clean is probably the way to go. Losing Yeo and Hay wouldn't have been part of that plan though.
The Knights are in a tricky position and so far it hasn't worked, but while patience is needed certainly after the season finishes there needs to be some positive signs quickly as they look to rebuild. Realistically they're going to need a couple of seasons before a decision on their future in the league is made for them to have been given a fair crack at establishing themselves as part of the league. |
