Welcome and enjoy. Make sure you visit the MLS Section.

You can also go vote for what Seattle will be called. Just go to the main website. Surprised you're not a Seattle Sounders fan.

Laughing It's all you had for awhile there. They were pretty good last year, made some good upsets in the US Open Cup.

And you never know; If the MLS gets smart about making this league competitive top to bottom, they'll eventually incorporate a relegation/promotion system.

Yeah, i think the MLS eventually will do something like that but at the moment I dont think we have enough MLS teams to make a first division.

I have lived in New Jersey for 11 years, then Minnesota for 2, and now Washington for almost 2 years now. So i really should be a Red Bull supporter, but 5 years ago when i did live there i wasnt as big into the sport and the MLS wasnt nearly as good.

Alright. Let me start off by saying I was once sadly a Liverpool Supporter. When I was 8 years old in elementary school in New Jersey my friend was a huge Arsenal fan because his dad was from London. But for some reason he was always talking about Liverpool and Michael Owen and whatnot so I chose Liverpool as my team without seeing one single EPL match. So when i started watching football I supported Liverpool cause i didnt know any better. Wink I started watching the EPL seriously in like 2006. So I joined the official Liverpool forum and got my Liverpool kit, Champions League DVD, posters, etc. So I considered mysel to be a huge fan. But then one day in October of 2006 after Liverpool had lost to Man United at Old Trafford I went on the forums. And oh my god, all of a sudden everyone was turning on the team saying sack Rafa blaming this blaming that, it was a joke and I realized that about 80% of them were glory hunters and only supported the team because of their history and such. I was not a glory hunter because I started "supporting" them without knowing anything about them. So that memory was always at the back of my mind. I went on to support Liverpool throughout the 06-07 season and still supported them coming into this season. Then after Liverpool started dropping stupid points again and going on the forums i began to ask myself whywould i want to support a team like this? With such a negative fan base and even when they lose they blame EVERYONE but themselves, EVERYONE! (im glad i got out there when i did cause im not sure i could take the anti-american songs at the matches because of their owners.) So then i went looking around the league for an up and coming team, and a team with no glory hunters mainly and will get behind the club in any circumstance. My choices came down to Newcastle (been to St James...) Portsmouth, Man City, Spurs, and Villa. I liked the potential Pompey had with Redknapp and their players but didnt like the way they played football. I didnt want to get involved with the whole Man City and its owner saga. Spurs were on the way down although i did like some of their players. And Newcastle were really on the way down. Then i came to Villa. I loved how they played, loved MON and Learner was doing great things for the club and he is American. I also loved Villa Park and most importantly there were no glory hunters. This happened in late November when I decided to support Villa and am Villa through and through.

That's really interesting.

I can understand how someone can start liking a team without really going to see them, and also how you can eliminate teams you don't like.

Do you feel you have Villa in your blood now? If you know what I mean Smile

For instance - I became an Arsenal fan many years ago - Villa were the first team I saw us beat actually (first game we lost to Pompey), but I could never change for any reason - fans, management, owners etc.

Going to see them as in Live or on TV? And what eliminating part are you talking about?

I definately feel like I bleed Claret and Blue cause i chose this team and they will stick with me for the rest of my life.
