Wow, i was going to say "Come on Pompey!", but now you've said that... Wink

Nah, i do hope Portsmouth win. For a few reasons:

- They are English and not Welsh, and this is an English competition.

- They wouldn't go out of the UEFA Cup in the first round and be a total waste of a place.

- Portsmouth greater deserve to be in Europe via their league position.

- Portsmouth probably merit silverware more than Cardiff by their league achievements.

- Harry Redknapp's one of the best English manager's and it'd be good to see him earn some silverware.

- Cardiff deprived Barnsley of their much deserved final appearance.

Yes Ben Pompey atr the better team and are better in terns oif what league they are in, but they have had so much luck on this cup run and have probably deserved to be beaten in at least 3 of there previous Fa cup games.

You say its an English competition which it is but if a Welsh team is going to get to the final and then everyone says they dont deserve to win because they're welsh, why not just stop them or any welsh team from playing.

I'd like to see Pompey win, it would cap off quite a remarkable season for the south coast outfit.
But I certainly wouldn't begrudge Cardiff a shock victory, its always nice to see an underdog do well - I just hope its a decent game befitting of such an occasion.

Twmcat - just out of interest, would you mind mind if people constantly referred to your National Anthem as dirge?

What takes the p*ss is that Cardiff want to play in our league yet when one of their players got red carded and suspended for the final, they crawled to the Welsh FA who, surprise surprise, rescinded the suspension! What the f*ck is that about?

OK Steely - I've just seen this.

The English National anthem sounds like a dirge to me - that is not just my opinion, but the opinion of many English people too.

I'm not bitter or angry or jealous.

I'm getting fed up with your English nationalism and saying anyone lives in a country if they don't live in England is living in an inferior country is just unpleasant.

Caerdydd is the capital of Wales, not Cardiff, as you English people prefer to call it, but I accept that you prefer to use English names for towns / cities - eg Seville for Sevilla, Rome for Roma etc, and I assume most non-English members accept that sort of thing.

But - telling me to "keep your random jumble of letters, useless inbred language off the forum" is totally unacceptable.

You have had an offical warning - you are now banned,.

Sorry Twm but you've just criticised the English national anthem, so what did you expect? Steely is just voicing his own opinions on the Welsh language - I don't see the difference between the two criticisms personally. I accept that he is out of order about the "Caerdydd" issue though.

Banning him for that is very harsh. I think he should be re-instated.

OK - if you don't like it, I'm sorry.

I was getting a bit fed up when people were sending me texts when I was on my hols saying that Steely was being nasty about me.

That didn't bother me as I wasn't able to see what he was saying, so who cares?

But, I wanted to post about the final , and I saw his nastiness yet again.

Johal - you seem to accept he was wrong about Caerdydd, but don't you you think " so please keep your random jumble of letters, useless inbred language off the forum" is not insulting?

There are a lot of people who are unhappy about him, and I'm willing to put my head on the block here.

Jamesy - I know you like to argue with Steely, and maybe you can in the future, but I won't be here if it is happening Wink

It's crazy - Steely has used words of similar content for posts to so many people and most take it like it should be. Read, understood and then swept under the table; unless it's an issue on topic that needs to be replied to.

More posters on here have made much worse posts to regular members and despite their complaints or problems, it's been ignored by Admin at times. Yet Steely makes a tasteless comment about the Welsh language and he's banned?

You may personally have problems with Steely's posts, but is it right to ban one of the most regular & best posters the forum has had since it's creation?

It seems like a playground at times. I get fed up of the place because of it's playground like rules & regulations yet keep coming back because there are few great members like Steely. That's not because I "like to argue with him" - it's because he's an expressive poster and a great character, whether you like his content or not.

Jamesy - can't you see how many times he has been nasty to people?

He has had a warning after the arguments between him and Bluenose.
Bluey won MMOTM, but got banned as he'd had warnings in the past, and, he'd even once been banned.

We couldn't reasonably ban Steely then as he'd not had a previous warning - although he should have done.

But - he has been warned, and his posts now are too unpleasant.

It's a bit soft in my view anyway. I don't think what he has said is enough for a straight ban.

I probably missed all the arguments with Bluenose. But Bluenose was a wind-up merchant anyway. Steely has made more efforts to make the forum greater and I don't think a few "arguments" and "unpleasant" posts should derail those efforts.

But at the end of the day, you have read more of his more recent posts than me and you have to monitor & regulate the forum. As a final piece, I just would say that I can't agree with it.

I'd have to agree with you there J-axe, although Steely was an ignorant prat who caused a lot of contoversy at times, for instance the whole Jock racist thing he had going on with Graham, he was a solid poster who always had something to say in his posts rather just a sweeping statment loosely related to the topic at hand. The forum will definately be a poorer place without him around as he made a genuine effort to talk about football in real depth, which most members dont, me included sometimes aswell im afraid Sad.

the cardiff fans, peter ridsdale and the welsh in general do not deserve the FA Cup

that's a sort of improper thoughts.. anyone deserve being the winner for playing well in a match regardless of where they come from.. not to mention if they've gone through a lot to reach this stage..

i know i might be asked to learn more about history and bla bla bla.. so it's just a fair point of view..

Come on Cardiff!!!!!

Will be cheering them on at every point tonight, knowing a few people on here from Cardiff gives me more of a link to em than Pompey and id give anything to see the pain and disapointment on Judas' face when they lose! Very Happy

Also think it would be a great thing for the fans and the game to have a Championship side win the FA Cup. And imagine their European tours next year!

Bluenose is banned? Where have i been??

Hal-le-lu-jah.

On another note though, Steely being banned is a travesty for this place. A fair few of his recent comments have derived from frustration at the fact this place has been flooded by a flurry of dimwitted, useless posters and is rapidly going down the sh*thole as a result... banning Steely is only putting an accelerator on that process.

It doesnt matter Ben as i dont think Purse has played any of the games in the Fa cup this season, well he didnt play against Boro or Barnsley. Also you say they went back to the Welsh Fa which is true but i think they and the Cardiff fans would prefer it if they had to go to the English Fa about things since they are in the English League and competitions.
