As much as it pains me to say it, as soon a the ball came to Torres' feet inside the box with Senderos marking him, I knew it was a goal and it happened the exact way I thought it would be. We can still win it if we score a goal, but I can't see how they can score a goal...

It was a penalty (slight) but complete [beep!]. That was less of a penalty than the one in the first leg with Hleb. Now onto the game. It was a great game, definite classic. Flamini getting hurt was what turned the match in Liverpool's favor. After he was taken off and Gilberto replacing him, we lost all control of the midfield and that's where the game was lost. Walcott's run was absolutely amazing, running 3/4 way down the pitch, beating at least 5 defenders along the way and dropping the ball off perfectly for Adebayor. I've been saying this for weeks, but Wenger NEEDS TO START WALCOTT! Eboue is an absolute joke, he missed quite a few chances to get the ball into the box and square up Adebayor but of course he screws it up. Van Persie was a no show once he came on. (sorry Rach ) Torres' goal was brilliant as well. I don't know why Senderos didn't close on him, maybe scared of fouling him in the box, but Gallas also stepped back when he realised Senderos was there.
The football God's and the refs were on Liverpool's side in this tie. I feel like there's going to be even more talk about the PK not given to Hleb in the first leg now due to the PK given in the second leg to Babel. The media is going to run wild with it. |

omigod.. what a tense match.. i can't imagine if it's Man Utd playing.. lol.. torres's goal's certainly a world class touch.. it's dangerous to let him with the ball in the penalty area.. yeay.. and the adebayor's equalizing one's nothing compared to it.. it'd have been class if walcott just scored it by himself after his brilliant run.. and it's really excited to see babel score the fourth one.. so pool's winning fair and square.. the penalty's simply a bonus for their superb performance.. poor Gunners to blow their chance with the penalty and a bloody chance too.. you know who missed it.. haha.. |
