Liverpool broke Luton's hearts in an FA Cup classic at Kenilworth Road. It is a game that will surely go down as one of the most remarkable in the magical history of the world's oldest cup competition.

The visitors went in front when Steven Gerrard curled in but Luton struck twice as Steve Howard slotted home and Steve Robinson brilliantly drove in. Djibril Cisse missed a penalty, Kevin Nicholls' spot-kick made it 3-1 before Florent Sinama Pongolle drove home. Xabi Alonso lobbed in from 40 yards to level, Pongolle headed past Beresford and at the end Alonso amazingly curled into an empty net from fully 60 yards.

Great match, Liverpool looked great when they were pouring forward and it was only a matter of time in the second half before they started knocking them in.

Fair play to Luton, they outplayed us in the first half and had us seriously rocking, but i'm delighted with our never say die attitude that Benitez has given us

All i caught in this game was the last goal.

But when i left St James Park it was 2-1 to Luton, then when i was on the metro it was 3-1.

Got picked up from the metro and it was 4-3 to Liverpool , couldnt believe it.

That kind of games really keep my passion on the game! It can happen only in England.
Liverpool was so powerfull in the closing minutes so I had the feeling they would not stop scoring at all till the end!

What a cracker of a game yesterday. I didn't manage to see the whole game but have seen all the goals and it's got to be said that the goals were pretty special. Alonso's in particular showed great vision on both of his long range strikes. As a Liverpool fan said to me last night all cup competition games should come with a health warning for Liverpool fans.

A good game for the neutral but I was having chest pains at 90 minutes.

was at the gym when Luton made it 1-1 , had a shower and came out to see it was 3-1 to Luton . Then Liverpool scored to make itv 3-2 . Then drove home and put on tv and Liverpool were 4-3 in front , amazing and there was still time to see the Alonso 60 yarder to make it 5-3 . I do feel sorry for Luton though as you dont often score 3 goals against a side and lose .

Maybe they will get a sympathy card from a certain team in Italy.

hahahaha ... Nice joke there.

I think the Champions League final in Istanbul instilled a certain never say die attitude that wasn't really present in Liverpool players before. And of course I'm the happiest!! Now the Liverpool players work their socks off as seen in the last 2 games. 2-2 against Bolton and 5-3 in the FA cup.

All in all. Great game. Trash Mourinho and his boring Liverpool tag.
